Yeah, you do. I had the opposite problem. I out leveled content very quickly. I was VR1 before I finished the main quest.

It’s hard to break the OCD of finishing off each quest and ignoring all the markers that pop up while you’re doing it. I think I have to rethink that, and just “go with the flow.” There are a lot of quests around!

Most quest items use the Quest tab in the Inventory so take no space. I tend to focus on my current quest but pick up more at every opportunity.

I’m in the VR2 zone so I’m sort of making a beeline for the main quests that let me move on to the next zone. However, my quest OCD also prevents me from running by a questgiver if he’s in the general area the main quests are taking me (if I’m simply exploring or running around I typically will ignore those guys, though). I’m also still trying to clean out the zone by doing all of the dungeons, bosses and dolmens.

One thing I just read was that the zone’s environmental areas: the aforementioned dolmens, bosses, and dungeons all give you XP according to the zone they are in. However, the quest XP rewarded scales to your level. So if that’s the case (and I have to admit I did not verify this claim but it came from someone who I trust knows) then your leveling strategy should be to vacuum up the zone and get all of the markers filled in; only then should you start questing through the zone. That way if you level up before you start questing you’ll reap the rewards of your higher level when turning in the quests.

Found this on Skull Crusher, used elsewhere? The dummy has fooled me twice. Love how pointless it is.

Yep. You are rewarded for staying ahead of the intended curve.

The quickest way to level in VR content is to first sweep through the zone and do all the dolmens, dungeons and world bosses. Then, go back and do the Cadwell quests. Skip any non-Cadwell quest, unless it is one of the (very) few needed to get a skyshard.

You can also proceed to Craglorn early and knock out a level or two there. I wouldn’t do all of VR there, as it’ll become grindy, and you’ll miss out on a ton of skill points from the Cadwell quests.

PvP also offers good veteran experience. As bad as it was 1 - 50, it’s quite good after that if you’re in an active campaign.

Was having bad issues with interface freezing after killing something. Killed Steam, problem gone.
. . .
And now after Update 1.2.3, its almost too responsive :)

Just wish they actually patched rather than this download everything again.

I had issues being at what I consider “the right level” when clearing a zone this way. I was VR3 so for my EP guy, I was in Rivenspire or whatever it’s called (the 3rd DC zone, for what it’s worth). I completed all the POIs, did the public dungeon, and did all but 1 of the Cadwell questlines and I was over 100k from leveling. Now a “big” quest was giving me 27k exp so I figured if I did the last quest for the zone it would grant me maybe 30 to 40k, so I knew I would be short. I ended up clearing the zone of quests and still was a little bit short, so I ended up going to the VR4 zone at a VR3 and had to complete the first quest chain there to level up.

My guy didn’t have any issues killing VR4 mobs at VR3 but I can’t escape the feeling that down the line I will regret moving on a bit early; I haven’t done any AvA in a while and did not do any group dungeons so maybe one of those would have helped me out.

Also, the thought of having to go through 7 more zones worth of this is starting to make me feel a bit queasy. Of course then I start thinking if I was VR10 or 12, what would I be doing right now anyway (answer: probably being sad there wasn’t some sort of big endgame PVE thing to do!).

Charlatan – you’re doing it the slow way. You should not have to do quests other than the Cadwell line, unless you want to. I outlined the faster method a few posts above yours.

You should also try the group dungeons. They’re short, the boss fights are good, and your first run through any awards an achievement and a skill point. For VR dungeons, that achievement is worth a ton of exp.

Caught: King Laloriaran Dynar in two places at once. I can run back and forth and count on consistent results.

Of course. We have somebody dressed like him, and saying things he would say, in a very visible position. He is a target and we don’t want him killed, actually it was his idea to do that. Is a clever guy.

Fixed an issue where you were not being teleported back to your alliance’s starting area when entering the Northern Morrowind Gate or the Southern High Rock Gate.

Shock. Another bug that benefits the Dominion. Got ganked twice resurrecting at the Wayshrine, but got credit for a later veteran raider.

I decided that I am going to give TESO six months of subscription time to keep me engaged. I’ve tried all of the recent releases and TESO’s overall environment is the most engaging to me. Wildstar lost me with some of its game mechanics and I want to see if I am going to put serious time into TESO. It is different enough from WoW to make the game play interesting and that is what I am looking for.

The Elder Scrolls Online is $29.99 at Amazon (50% off).

Really? No one cares to comment how this game is now on Steam? …or that you can buy the Palomino Horse DLC for just $15. Let’s talk.

That’s what I get when I try to access the link. EDIT: Looks like I can see it just fine using the Steam client.

As for the fact that it’s coming to Steam… good for them, I guess?

Well, they can hope no-one reads the forums before deciding to purchase the game. Holy moses people are upset at the 50 percent price point and of course claims its dead.

Fifty percent off today, 75% off in the winter sale. I can wait!

Perhaps they will drop the subscription by then too…I would bite then.
