So from what I understand, in order to play a necromancer you need the elsewhere expansion, but when I look on steam that DLC is not for sale…

You can purchase the class in-game as well in the store for “crowns”.

BUT - if you get the Greymoor starter version of ESO, both the warden and the Necromancer should be part of it as far as I know.

I tried that, didn’t work.

I find that if the way shrine is in the same region eg Vvardenfell, then it’s a lottery. Sometimes it works. But a sure fire way for items to be delivered to you is if you travelled to another region.

Ahh, yes, I was indeed traveling back and forth in Vvardenfell. Best spot I’ve found for traders and crafting tables.

You know the quest for the prophet? The blind guy you meet in cold harbor? Well I started doing his quest stuff, and after each mission he says he needs time. Then I leave his lair walk like 20 feet and then he pops up and says he needs me. Then I go back and do another mission and the same thing happens.

Should I wait on these or just knock them all out? I assume since everything is leveled content that they have remove the level requirements for each step in this quest line. I am wondering if I finish it too quickly if Ill miss out on some uber rerward. IE: I finish at level 25 and get a really nice, level 25 item instead of a really nice level 50 item.

Knock 'em out. They used to be gated by character level but that was removed. It’s the release main quest and gives a ton of skill points as well as being the only way to advance the soul skill line.

Any set (powerful) item you get at any level is added to your sticker book and you can recreate it at level 50 CP 160 for a couple transmute stones. So nothing is ever wasted.

I decided to get back in yesterday after not playing much, ever, but not at all for a year or two. I created a new character and it started my in Sommerset with the tutorial and quest chain there. Its fun so far so no complaints but I was wondering about the original Cold Harbor quest. Do I need to go find that in order to get the skill points? If so, should I go wherever that is from Sommerset or finish this chain first?

Yes you do need to do it if you want those skill points and such. You can do it in whatever order you like, ESO is completely open.

If you are like me and feel compelled to do things in the “right” order, this might help:

Thanks, I do sort of feel compelled to do it that way. Guess this evening I’ll try and find my way to one of the listed placed to start it. I was actually surprised that it didn’t start me there or at least give me the option of where to start with a new character.

While the old zones are fun. If I had it to do again, I’d just pick whatever starter zone sounds fun. Like Morrowind? Do that storyline. Like Skyrim? Start in Greymoor, etc.

The only thing that really matters is playing each “season” in order. So Morrowind+Clockwork City, or North Elswyr+South Elswyr.

Is there a way to see buffs on your character? IE: I eat food or cast regeneration, id like to see an icon with a duration remaining. In fact, if I cast any spell with a duration, Id like something to tell me how much time it has left.

Welcome friend to the rabbit hole of addons! Why play the game when you can research/install/tweak addons instead?

EDIT: The above is a great standalone choice. If you like all in one packages, consider something like BanditUI.

Suggest anyone getting addons for ESO (and you should) use Minion:

https://minion.mmoui.com/

Yes to srendarr and minion, but actually the next patch greatly improves buff displays and ability cool down displays too.

I tried downloading a mod called SkyShards using minion. It requires a bunch of libs that are out of date and some of these libs it relies on do not exist like one called libDebugLogger which I think is needed by libGPS. It seems like the mod was updated on 3/9 this year. Does anyone use this and does it still work?

I think Destinations includes shards and is more regularly updated.

Map Pins is the best one. It covers nearly everything.
