Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to know.
On exploring … I read that and like it so spend some time doing that, just “Lets go that a way!”, and it was fun. There was on jarring aspect to it though. Since resource nodes and chests are not instanced, and both go to first to click, I’d run into random people, just one per spot standing in places. So, I’d stand there a bit and see what spawned. The few times I did spot a chest that wasn’t “camped” it was a super high difficulty. That is a bit … immersion breaking. It would be nice for immersion if they used instanced nodes. But for mudflation I can see where then you’d have to adjust in other ways more casual players would not like.
I could find resource nodes that weren’t camped … eventually. But as my son pointed out, this will be bot heaven in PvE areas.

I have watched a few videos from high level characters, and theres a lot to like:
- Soloing ganks is possible, if thats your thing. You can roam around ganking the alone dude lost somewhare out of place. And again when he return. And maybe again when he return with a friend.
- Group ganking is (of course) possible, but also facilitating because every character can hide in plan view just pressing control. All these single guys running to a keep, will have problems, and the keep will suddenly not have any reinforcement.
- High-level dungeons can be challenging, looks pretty and give some good rewards*… with optional boss, for these days your team feels hysterical :D
- Dumb me, I did not notice that is easy to have two sets of skills, change from one to another quickly… so you can actually double-spec. Maybe have a spec for melee, and other for range, or a burst damage spec and one aoe. Unlike many others mmos, theres no restrictions to swap your toolbar quickly, remaking your build or making adjustments.
- Theres a build (no idea what class or skills… probably DK) that let you play (at high level) like some wizard phoenix tanking lava flamethrower of permanent fury river of fire. And thats always a cool thing.
So… is not bad, the game could be rather cool in some places, in a good day. I am somewhat hyped, and can’t wait to play.
If the combat and movement didn’t feel so crappy, and the quests didn’t feel so clunky, I’d be more in to this. But right now, from what little I’ve experienced, it does not feel like a AAA, buy the box and pay fifteen a month product to me. It feels less well crafted than, say, Rift. I really want to like this, but my two beta experiences have left me cold.
Funny how everyone has different tastes. I find the movement and combat feel very grounded and the quests have all been very fun.

Yeah, this game feels like a regression from Rift for me.

I preordered it. Who is making a guild?
Different strokes, etc. I think enjoying or not enjoying a game experience is pretty personal, and it’s inevitably going to be something each person experiences differently. There are no real absolutes in things like “feel” o combat and movement, and how “fun” one feels things are is likewise impossible to really carry across different perspectives.

I’ve been seeing some talk about PvP…is PvP “always on” or is it a choice like in WoW where you can flag yourself as PvP?

I believe PvP is always on in Cyrodil, the disputed imperial province. Other areas are not PvP enabled.

Great, thanks for information!

This video does an excellent job of showing how the 5-man PvE works:

The devs did an AMA today. Highlights:
- Early Access starts at 7am EDT Sunday, March 30th
- Your beta account is your live account. There’s no need to redownload (characters get wiped, though)
- The EU server will be relocated to the EU, but not until after lauch
- Multiple changes to over- or under-powered racials (Dunmer buffed, Khajits and Altmer nerfed)
- Weapon choice is returning for the prison area
- They believe they found the bug causing all the broken quests last beta, and they have fixed it
There’s a ton of other stuff. I sincerely hope they are right about quashing whatever broke most of the quests ;) More here:
How do we get out early access? I ignored the beta, so don’t have anything.

I just opened my account page at elderscrollsonline.com, and there is a button to download the PC or Mac clients. It would probably be smart to do that earlier rather than later :)
Great, someone already took Desslock. thanks.
ok, never mind, I have Desslock, lol. Uh, how do I download the client? I don’t see that option.

On my account page, on the right hand side, there is a link to download the client. It’s possible that is because I had beta access, though.
All the subscription plan information is supposed to come out next week, so there may be more information at that point.
Yeah, no such option for me. After some more digging, it seems Bestbuy was supposed to send me an early access code for my Imperial collectors edition, but naturally did not, since it’s impossible to preorder games in Canada from anyone without some kind of fuck up, apparently. This is the third straight pre-order that has been fucked up, in under a month, from Amazon and Bestbuy, who are the only real options for Canadian purchasers (South Park and Dark Souls 2 orders were also screwed up).

Bestbuy screwups are not limited to Canada ;) I bought directly from Bethesda.
