I just tried and got Error 103 which said something like “your login info doesn’t authorize you to connect at this time”. When I googled that, the info I got said “this error means you have to wait for the game to be released”!

Very first newbie quest on the newbie island was still broken, handing the potions to shipwrecked sailors. This bodes not well.

Probably just too many people - Ebonheart no broken quests so far, and lvl 6. Its a bit early to proclaim doom over an MMO having issues the very first day.

Nope. Same bug as in beta. You need to heal the sailors in a specific order or the quest bugs out and must be abandoned. This is literally the first newbie quest on the newbie island for the aldmeri dominion.

I’m not proclaiming doom, just saying that their QA was and remains shit.

Been playing as Imperial and started on the newbie island. Had two quests crash the game, but otherwise isn’t too bad. I am level 5 Templar and I can see myself interested in ESP beyond the first month. Is different enough from WoW that I do not feel like I am playing WoW again. I like how you can essentially learn how to use and do anything for the most part (if you put the time in building skills).

One thing that concerns me so far. I’m falling behind on the levelling curve. At lvl 9 all my quests are lvl 10 and above, and I’ve taken every single quest. Even gone back to the starter island and did that one as well. Since you can’t grind your way up through mobs, its getting to be a bit of an issue. All quest rewards are for lvl 10 and above.

I like a lot of what I’m seeing but there are some lessons they don’t appear to have learned from the last 15 years of MMO design. Like, you know, having any way whatsoever to compensate for high population density, which has been an immersion disrupting pain in my ass all day.

Heh, I am having the opposite problem. I’m level 8, and I have a ton of level 5 quests I have to clear. Aldmeri Dominion. I’m playing as a completionist, though, and I’ve hit everything there is so far.

Yeah - this is indeed the best launch I’ve seen ever in an MMO - and I’ve seen a lot.

PvP seems MASSIVE as well, not unlike Guild Wars 2 it seems.

This isn’t the actual launch, this is just preorder people. I’ve had server disconnects a couple of times, where I shoot my first shot then just lag for 45-60 seconds, inevitably resulting in my death. But it’s far from the worst MMO launch experience I’ve seen. Very far!
