Yes, you can cap mana regen through gear. However, capping mana regen on a race that doesn’t have that skill line is most likely going to take more gear dedication towards that goal, so in order to achieve it you may be missing out on some extra HP, armor, stamina, whatever. That’s what I’ve heard, anyway, I haven’t played end game yet.
I’ve set up a TS server for, well, my use in general. I figure since this will be my thing for a while, we can use it here

I do think a combat log would be a nice addition, either that or have some way of building that in to the training dummies I have found in the fighters guild. I am torn on the buffs, part of me says it would be nice to see them, but on the other hand I am in the character screen often enough to see when a buff is close to wearing off. Everything I have seen so far is food is roughly 35 minutes and buffs are usually around a minute.
THANK YOU.
I don’t have any add-ons installed yet, but one thing I’d like is some way to allow the skillbar to be displayed permanently. I don’t want to ruin Zenimax’s Feng Shui or anything, but I have a hard time remember what number I want at any given time and the skill bar seems to appear and disappear at odd times.

You don’t need an addon for this. Settings, Interface, Heads-Up Display, Show Action Bars.
I dunno, if you get the gamma set so that you really can barely see the middle ring, it looks pretty good at night:
Ahhh, thanks, that worked.

And on the other hand, I have the gamma pushed way up because I found nights too dark and gloomy. And they seem to last for frickin’ ever.

My release-toon strategy:
It seems my character is a tiny bow armed / medium armour / sorcerer of the storm / chef. I am avoiding the other crafting professions and embracing cooking. Since I loot all storages that I see quickly, I always have a lot of resources. I may even dump a few points in that, even if that gimp a bit my character. Cooking seems a source of money more than a money sink, and is intermediately practical ( you can eat what you make and benefict from temporal bonus). I am considering advancing enchanting, but probably is a better idea to buy my enchants.
There are a lot of skillpoints available - I’ve seen tallies listing around 300 you can get (be forewarned, though, this includes about 50 from PvP). Most builds I’ve seen listed use around 100 to 120 skillpoints. So there’s definitely enough skillpoints to max out one or two crafts without gimping your character.
A crafting tip: crafting XP is completely separate from adventuring XP (I think crafting XP is called “inspiration” or some such). For the “hard” professions - blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking - you get some crafting XP from making stuff but more from breaking stuff down. However, there is a catch: if you break down items you’ve made, you only get about 10% as much XP as you’d get from breaking down stuff someone else has made. So the trick is to have a “crafting buddy” - someone who’s doing the same craft as you. Each of you make X items and mail them to the other person. Then you break down the stuff he made, and he breaks down the stuff you made. That way you both get good XP.
Note that this works for alts too, so if you want to level a your main dude in blacksmithing, make an alt, get him to the tutorial island, and have him craft the daggers (you can craft with the materials in the bank so have your main guy put all the raw materials in there first). Stick the daggers in the bank, log on with your main guy, break down the daggers from the bank (this works too) and you’re a better blacksmith. You can make up to level 14 gear without spending any additional points in any profession so there’s nothing preventing you doing this as long as you have the raw materials.
In addition, you don’t have to be able to use the item to break it down. For example, if you break down level 14 daggers, you can get to level 3 in blacksmithing after breaking down 7 or so. The reason level 3 is important is that this unlocks the “hireling” skill. The hireling skill is awesome because every 24 hours when you log in, you will receive an in-game mail with some materials. Probably just a few pieces of ore, but often you’ll get gems, the things you use to upgrade items, and other special goods that are hard to get. The only hitch is that you need to log in with the character to receive the mail.

Very interesting!, thanks :D
So: Guild group tried to do the 3 ‘starter’ dungeons today.
First one : No problems. All bosses and kills work ok, even if it started lagging horribly at one point so we had to take a break for a few minutes.
Second one: Quest npcs wouldn’t trigger, we continued killing and got no loot what-so-ever, quest objective didn’t update on first boss, but did on tsecond. We abandon quest and reset, and quest npc wont react at all
Third one: Start ok, we fight our way up to the end of the dungeon, where it gets stuck. Apparently this was also a bug 4 month ago.
We go back to Second dungeon, and try our luck again. This time we get loot on first boss, but still the quest fails to trigger.
We leave.

Joined TS but nobody else on, sad panda.
it was lagging me out for some weird reason. Might switch it over to vent instead
in regards to crafting…where do I find the different racial motifs? I have not had even one drop yet (and I am lvl 9, almost 10).

Random containers (e.g., night tables, barrels). They’re rare.
So many buggy quests…they need to start bouncing the servers, instead of letting this rot.

Can I ask what faction? I am flabbergasted at people saying the game has many broken quests, since I’ve seen one. The ones that had issues in beta were all fixed so far. Oh, and I’m playing Ebonheart Pact.
Daggerfall. It’s also getting worse as the servers rot, so if you’re behind the first wave it’s pretty bad.

Oh, so its because of the high traffic? Just like in Beta? I can see why thats annoying. especially since there is so far between XP and levels in this game.
Yeah. It’s the same problem I’ve seen in, like, the last three MMOs I’ve played. High traffic kills poorly implemented quests, and the servers aren’t rebooted often enough, probably because some director has it in their bonus goals that they won’t exceed some downtime metric.
