Its a shame really, because those quest issues aside, this is the smoothest launch I’ve seen. Even though Stusser claims its not a launch ;-)

I’ve had three so far as Ebonheart. I couldn’t talk to a critical NPC until I relogged over in Bal Foyen, there’s a world object for another quest that almost certainly should be interactable but is instead permanently on fire, and I had a “defend this person” quest trigger by going into a mine underneath them, and now nothing spawns for me to defend her from.

If you have quest issues, try logging out for a few minutes or 10, and then log back in. It seems that more often than not, you’ll be in another instance, with a chance for the issue not being there in that instance.

So far in Ebonheart the only broken quest I have is to summon the Guardians Blaze and Ragesplitter. That said folks have had good luck getting GMs to respond and unblock the quest for them. I just haven’t had a block of time to do so yet. Been playing in small chunks due to current work schedule.

How does a game designed entirely around a controller not have controller support.

Maddening.

Three bugged quests for me so far, out of perhaps 60 in Aldmeri Dominion. Two were resolved with one relog. One wasn’t, so I skipped it. I’m already four levels above the content, so I might as well move on anyway.

So far, I really like this. PvP is awesome. I joined a group of about 50 yesterday to take a fort, which was also massively defended. There were a (very) few scattered bits of .5 to 1 second latency problems, but it was overall smooth and a whole lot of fun. The PvP endgame is going to be fine. For PvE, I’ve only done one dungeon (Banished Cells), but it was a nice run. The boss fights were interesting, there was no trash and the whole run took about 30 minutes. Perfect so far.

Yea, wondering the same.

Just reached lvl 10, and I can now look into the Alliance Wars. I am wondering, though…should I wait until lvl 15 to get the weapon switch ability? Or does it really matter much?

I am concerned about my pc lagging. It is an older pc, although, it is running the game fine in PvE.

I have also only had one quest bugging out, and that is the same one as Arkon, Blaze and Ragesplitter not being able to be summoned.

Love the game, though…I actually feel sorry for some of the NPC’s…Damn Dagger Bastards!!

Really enjoy the way crafting is done, well, Blacksmithing anyways…

Unscheduled Maintenance.

The great thing about having servers located in the US for Euro players is that their maintenance time slot is our prime time :-)
And apparently we all speak german here.

Germany

Looks like they finally caved and brought the servers down for unscheduled maintenance.

Hope this helps clear up some of the issues that were starting to appear. Overall though, I’m really enjoying the game. Almost level 11, and smooth sailing so far.

In the middle of EU primetime, on early access! They have RUINED the game… RUINED!..ahem… anyways, enjoying the game a lot as well - many hidden areas which makes it fun for people like me who dislike linear games :-)

Having a really good time as well, though I think I’m running into far more broken quests than others.

I couldn’t save the spectral spirits from the Chimer ghosts, I couldn’t convince the Nords by fighting against them while drunk, there are a couple others I’m not remembering.

Really looking forward to the PvP but I’m concerned about grouping. The people I ‘know’ which are from here and a couple other communities seem to be spread out amongst the 3 alliances.

Yeah, that really bugs me. The interface is a tiny bit gimpy with the keyboard and mouse, clearly because it’s a controller interface. Really though, it’s one of the better interfaces I’ve seen for accommodating both, except for some baffling reason it doesn’t natively support the device for which it’s designed.

Go to Cyrodil as soon as you hit level 10. Do the entire “Welcome to Cyrodil” tutorial quest, which awards a skill point. It also advances you to rank 2 in PvP, which awards another skill point. If there is a particular mundus stone you want, you can also find them all in Cyrodil, though they may require sneaking into enemy territory.

If you want to leave, the only way is via the wayshrines. There will be two, at your faction’s two main gates (you zone in near one of them, and the tutorial takes you immediately to the other).

Great advice, I did not know there were skill points given for the tutorial quests!

How do you get to Cyrodil, or start the tutorial?

Have you ever considered giving Mumble a try? I admit that some people have issues setting it up, but the quality is quite good. I have hosted a private Mumble server for some friends for years and each one has commented on how clear it is. I’ve had 11 people on at once separated in two different channels with no issues on my 20mb down/1.5mb up Comcast connection.

I’ll understand if anyone becomes enraged at the mere mention of a non-Teamspeak, non-Ventrilo, non-Roger Wilco type voice chat. ;)

This has been a good release soo far. No long queues like on other games, and the game was working (or failing to work) as much has in beta, not worse. Normally you have problems with lots of people tryiing to play at the same time. But is early access, so maybe is too soon to say that.

And now I remember my time with Morrowind and I am sad. I remember that I was angry about slavery and self-imposed me the task to free all slaves in morrowind. I wish I where able to do that in ESO. Just now I am on some kajhit slave town, and is kinda sad in a “12 years as slave” way.

Yeah, lets hold our glowing reviews of the launch until the, err, launch day. This friday.

Just swapped the server over to Ventrilo, but the info is otherwise the same
