This quest where various friendly NPCs are barking fight mechanics at me to not get one-shot, but they’re barking them in German is completely fucktarded. Fix your shit…

Oh well, at least there’s a youtube video of the fight so I can see what the hell the intention is.

German is the internationally recognized language for use when barking orders.

Hit level 10, press L. Go to the campaign icon in the upper-right corner, and choose a home campaign (essentially your pvp server for the next 90 days). R-click it, make it your home campaign. To travel there r-click again. Once inside, talk to the NPC in front of you and you’re off :)

Oddly enough, their website, or at least their forums, are in German for me also. Just mickey-mouse bullshit.

Holy crap, really? You can only participate in 1 PvP battle for 90 days at a time?

Between this, and the limited 5 skill slots, this game is becoming all about choices. Hard, difficult choices.

And now, I switched it to mumble since it has much better overhead

You can switch, but it costs alliance points (which you earn in Cyrodil). It’s not a battle, not like WoW battlegrounds. It’s more an open-world scenario, on a huge map with persistence. If folks could just switch any time, you’d have a completely different experience. And usually, a much worse one, as the masses would self-sort into bandwagonny one-sided slaughters, to maximize the end-of-campaign rewards.

The five skill slots become ten at level 15. Weapon swaps have no cooldown.

That seems like a long lock-in for a decision that’s presented before you really have any idea what’s going on in the game.

To be fair, you can “guest” in different campaigns before picking one as your “home”. Of course, even guesting is on a 24 hour cool down I believe.

I never really bought the whole GW2 as a next generation MMO hype, but as I play ESO I really feel like there is a generation of improved design between the two (in GW2’s favor).

ESO does feel like a throwback in comparison to GW2 in the area of making sharing the world with other players not suck. I roll my eyes every time I deal with people poaching quest objectives or resource nodes out from under me. C’mon, guys, these are easy things to design around!

That being said, I’m still really enjoying ESO so far. I like the combat better than GW2 (and I liked GW2 combat quite a bit) and the exploration so far has been pretty damn good for an MMO. The crafting system is also something I’m really liking, and those three systems are all high up on my list of MMO priorities. Large-scale PVP is another, but I haven’t tried Cyrodiil yet. Been too busy playing around with different types of characters.

Pretty unstable tonight. I’ve been disconnected about a half dozen times with an “unknown error”, the latest one rolling me back several minutes. I see reports of the same on Reddit.

Was pretty solid for me. In about 5 hours of playing, I had one disconnect and one instance where I couldn’t enter a cave. Relogging solved that one.

Your turn to owe me a keyboard!

Worse for me as I was sometimes farmed off to an adoptive German grandmother for emergency custody arrangements who wasn’t sure she wanted to deal with a child on short notice. Not a patient woman.

I’m still settling on what I want as well. It’s a combination of the character creator being awesome, and none of the class abilities really grabbing me.

So, has anyone else seen the Khajit screaming her lungs off in the city of Silvani I think its called, about the fearsome beast she has captured? Its there in the cage right next to the Inn and at first, I thought it was very weird. Then, I suddenly got it, and its hilarious :-D

After levelling a Sorceror Bow pet user to lvl 12, and finding out EVERYONE is a DPS in the game, I started a High Elf Templar instead, to get some healing and tankiness - That way at least, we can do dungeons unlike the first 4 times I’ve tried with all too-low level dps’s all failing miserably. I’m really digging the templar so far. The use of mana and stamina combinations is pretty strong attack wise, and I’m keeping on healing spell on to level it up as well.

Yeah, Templar seems to be well rounded without too much effort. That class heal is amazing. I’m finding it a touch dull solo though; it seems like it would bring a lot to a group.

'Swhy I’m going with dual-weild Nightblade again in my first official roll, figuring it’s not a very common pick (don’t recall seeing others in beta and don’t see lots of people reporting that pick, anyway). I was very tempted to go with the roll Oghier mentioned a few pages back (bow/2h) but I’m assuming that’ll also be a common pick. Made it past the raw newbie area but login servers seem to have been taken down this evening, bummer.

Before I got booted, I noticed that the current build is pretty different from the beta from a few weeks back. In addition to additional content that was probably held back (which is cool) and the fact that you automatically (in Daggerfall) bypass the ship and other noob areas (with the option of seeking them out) the combat experience is…squishier? Combating enemies seems more challenging this time around, for some reason. For one thing, it’s now necessary (for me) to adjust the mouse sensitivity in the settings, from a default of ~60 down to ~30, where it wasn’t before. Even doing that, targetting enemies appears to require more concentration and precision. Probably something that’ll fade with practice and adaptation.

Dear lord…thats probably the worst bug I ever heard of in an MMO if thats true!
