There’s a somewhat reasonable chance that when Harvey Weinstein woke up this morning, it was the last morning of his life to be spent outside of prison.

Good. I don’t know if it will ever teach any lessons, but… hopefully.

I sure hope so. There are certainly plenty of people that woke up on particular mornings, not knowing it would be the last morning of their lives to be part of the non-raped population.

Yeah, he could eventually get 5 years a few times. If it hits 20 years consecutively he’s essentially gone for life.
Oh, Weinstein never looking at the sky as a free man again is a much-deserved and hoped-for outcome.
I do find myself contemplating what goes through such a man’s mind in that situation though. Not “What goes through a serial abuser/rapist’s” mind so much as "What goes through a man’s mind who never thought he would be in the position of permanent imprisonment he finds himself in now.
Which I think was brought on by reading of the English Civil War. One day, Charles I is king, albeit in a kind flight and exile in his own country. And the next he thinks “I’ll enter this Covenanter encampment and they’ll accept me as their lord and ally and in no time I’ll be back in London and the palace.” And instead, he’d never have another morning in his remaining short life where he was not held under arrest or imprisoned.
Is there a moment of clarity and realization? Is there that Gob Bluth realization by even the most self-delusional of “I’ve made a terrible mistake”?

It doesn’t appear as such. It seems like Weinstein feels like he’s the victim. I think denial is a very important part of serial abusers’ mindset.

Maybe a heck of a lot of panic…

“Your Honor, clearly my client isn’t cut out for the horribleness of prison! His poor heart…he wouldn’t last a second, Your Honor. Perhaps house arrest makes more sense for such a tormented, repentant individual…”

They have a hospital and everything in most prisons. Good luck . . . HARV.
He’s like Kevin Spacey’s character in Swimming with Sharks except without the compelling backstory twist at the end. He just straight up took advantage of women trying to break in (and the two women he was convicted of attacking never really did).

Knowing that jerk will likely die in prison brings some comfort. Not everything is upside down.
It hit home a bit when I saw one of my ex-girlfriends (from college) being interviewed about her encounter with him. She said nothing to me about it at the time.
Anyway, anxiety attacks are a bitch, and him having one on the way to Riker’s is a nice combo platter.

Does he have any money left? He could make a big contribution to Trump and get out of jail time that way.
I assume these are not federal charges.
I saw Harvey’s attorney on the PBS NewsHour. That woman was good, had as good answers as you could hope for defending a scumbag like Weinstein. I now understand how she got some acquittals. It may not matter, but whatever he is paying her, it is worth it.

Also, fuck her. Hope she chokes on the fortune he paid her.
EDIT - fuck her for all the horrible things she said about the victims, rape in general, etc. NOT for being a defense lawyer. She is a shitty shitty person. Fuck her.
Maybe she gives it all to charity? How would you feel then?

Yeah - it would be better if those we deem to be crooks had no access to defense, right? Just straight to jail with them! OR even better - The Guillotine!
