Well, I’m committed to Qt3. I opened an account on brokenforum just to see what everyone was up to, and I used my real name, and I posted in complete earnest — and Lum banned me damn near right away. I guess it’s just a closed circle over there. :(
That was something of a half-hearted effort.
The only “real” names on the banned list that aren’t spambots are: Adolf Hitler, Brian Koontz, and Herbert Birdsfoot!

Huh! It wasn’t until just now I realized I could click the “Leper Colony” tab and get a list of banned accounts and the circumstances surrounding the action.

Well, looking at the post history I’m not sure I would call it “completely earnest posts” either, and it seems like you were banned because you said you were leaving (which is a principle applied here as well). I actually think you would have been fine if you had just used your John Many Jars alias.
Maybe it’s for the best that not all forum personalities has left Qt3 though. I was surprised to see that almost all of the “characters” of Qt3 were banned during the purge. What you’re left with is mostly posters like myself. We might help you with a hardware problem or post something moderately interesting sometimes, but we aren’t the reason people keep coming back. We won’t get many likes or trophies at Broken Forum either of course, but the characters will. What I guess I’m saying is that it is now up to you, Mr Jars, to make sure that this forum remains interesting!

And you clicked on this thread expecting to find funny cat pictures? If you’re the kind of poster who enters dicussions just to state how uninteresting you think they are I find it hard to believe that you also find forum drama uninteresting! Especially if you are talking about the John Many Jars “drama” which really wasn’t dramatic at all. I just thought that his statement was funny given the possible names and his earnestness, and he was obviously just messing around.
