They’ll support ray-tracing, global illumination, and could do higher resolutions and refresh-rates, although it’s unclear how high xCloud will actually stream. But if you have a base XboneS in particular I expect streaming will be clearly better than playing local, if you have a good wired internet connection.

Okay that’s interesting. I wonder how twitchy Starfield will be. I could definitely see some PlayStation people picking up an Ultimate Game Pass to play if upcoming Bethesda RPGs play reasonably well over XCloud.

Yep, you want to play Starfield but went PS5? No problem, pay $15 for GP and stream it on your fireTV.

Another loophole!

So here’s a video about Lemnis Gate, which is coming day one to gamepass in August.

This is the first time I’ve actually understood what the game was about and how it plays, and it sounds pretty interesting.

The latest issue of Edge magazine has a beautiful, lenticular cover featuring Lemnis Gate. The game does look intriguing.

That would be a good way to try out games without a huge download for anyone in the Xbox club.

I’ve heard it’s definitely a big win for those on Series S’s since they don’t have much storage.

So there 27 games are announced to be coming to PC GP day 1.

Given that I already finished 17 games on GP PC, and paid in total $200 for it (with it active until april 2024), this really is an insane deal…with those “loopholes”.

Hades isn’t day 1 surely.

It is. It is the release date for XBox and PS consoles (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S), as far as I’m aware. It’s on Windows and Switch only right now, isn’t it?

But it’s been out on PC for ages. That’s a weird definition of day 1.

Oh no! One of the 27 games came out on PC earlier! This argument is very valuable use of our time :p

Have you seen verification they are coming to PC Game Pass? During the conference it always said Xbox Game Pass and not all games come to both, see Outriders.

You are right, Hades is probably not going to be in PC game pass now that you mention it, it is missing in the picture of games coming to PC this year that GP PC twitter posted. Everything else for 2021 is coming.

On the article linked a couple of days ago, Hades is indeed coming to PC as well as cloud and console on August 21.

Coming This Year

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator (Xbox Series X|S) – July 27
  • Hades (PC, Cloud, and Console) – August 21

I’m a little surprised they got Back4Blood on PC, that one felt like it would get the Outriders treatment.

I’m more than a little elated by that!

That is truly excellent news. There were several I thought might miss the PC side, but now I am giddy. Especially with Back 4 Blood and Dark Alliance right around the corner.

It’s like a subscription model for backlogs. A low monthly payment gets you all these games you will never even install!

That’s progress :)
