Funny, I have never heard of a bunch of these games: Iron Harvest, Bug Fables, Prodeus, Immortal Realms. Guess I’m out of touch.

F#ck I got Iron Harvest at the Epic sale. Typical.

Prodeus is actually quite good even in early access.

Bug Fables is a love letter to the early paper Mario Games, I found it charming.

Buried in there:

Starting today, Ultimate members can experience Xbox touch controls with eight more cloud-enabled games!

Double Kick Heroes

Empire of Sin

Octopath Traveler
Torchlight III
Yakuza: Like a Dragon

When I played OT, I was struck by the idea that it’s something I’d like to play on my android tablet. But I’m never going to get around to actually hooking up a game pad to the thing. Since I’m using the device right now, I just tested it, and the touch controls should work great in that game. The game streams full screen, and the touch controls just kind of float above it, obscuring very little. Seems great!

Oh! Nice! This has been on my wishlist for quite awhile.

Yeah, Bug Fables has been on my wishlist for a while and I’m happy to see it coming to gamepass.

Octopath Traveller is an excellent game, too! I actually just picked it back up last night and tried to defeat the boss I was stuck on… and beat it first try. I don’t know if I was really unlucky the dozen previous tries or just got lucky on this one (or both), but I’m now on my way to completing several characters’ plotlines and basically starting the game again with the characters I haven’t tried yet. I bet it’d be a great experience on mobile if the controls are good!

You can console yourself with the fact that you can still get DLC for your version, and keep it for more than a few months?

“Plus ça change…”

Looks like a decent “DOOM clone.”

haha yes.

Actually Immortal Realms was on my wishlist for quite a while until I was put off by bad Steam reviews so I’ll definitely give that a try.

Glad you mentioned that. I’m not sure if the name alone would have compelled me to try it, but knowing it’s taking inspiration from Paper Mario deserves a download and play.

I’d probably characterize it more as “pretty much Paper Mario with bugs instead.” :)

Is the writing as good as 1,000 Year Door?

It’s cute enough, but I wouldn’t say masterpiece-level, as far as my play has gone. I suppose there could be hidden depths yet to discover.

This is actually a nice little group of adds even though I already own some like Iron Harvest and Immortal Realms.

  • Worms Rumble: Have been curious about it, but not enough to purchase it as I wasn’t sure if I would like a real-time Worms game. Happy I have a chance to try it now. One of the best things about Game Pass is that it essentially revived demos as a thing, but this time it is the whole game for 6-12 months!
  • Iron Harvest: I own this one, but need to really set aside time to dig in to it. The Three Moves Ahead podcast crew loved the sumptuous campaign and the COH-style gameplay.
  • Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered: I think I missed this originally unless Hot Pursuit was one of the NFS games I dabbled with on the Vita. Will take it for a spin as I generally prefer arcadey racers these days.
  • Prodeus: Looks awesome from the video Telefrong posted above. Will certainly spend time with this one for a bit of the ol’ ultraviolence.
  • Bug Fables: Something I might have missed based on the name, but talk of being a Paper Mario style game triggers a download. Especially since I tried to order the recent Paper Mario from Target, but they were sold out everywhere near me and wouldn’t ship to home.
  • Gang Beasts: At first blush seems like a meme-style game made for the streamer set. Maybe there is more to it.
  • Immortal Realms Vampire Wars: Another one I own, but haven’t spent a lot of time with it. It didn’t set the 4X world on fire, but some players are getting more traction out of this than others. Probably works more for those that prefer the theme and a lighter 4X style game. Keeping this on me to-be-played list as I am curious about it and in the mood for 4X games this summer.

A lot of PC offerings in this update.

Bug fables was on my wishlist as well. Looking forward to it

Perks also mentions a free, time limited space jam game next week. The original is one of my favorite movies

Newegg deal for $50 12 month XBL Gold is back.

Okay, have to ask a question about subscription services and Game Pass specifically. I’ve a Game Pass subscription on PC and games I’m interested in playing are also offered for sale at a slight discount. Aside from purchasing them so that they remain available to me, in case they ever may be taken off Game Pass, what is the reason why I’d want to purchase a game? Isn’t the point of having a subscription to avoid the individual game payouts?

I feel like I’m missing a benefit to buying. I see that there are DLCs, perhaps, that you have to buy as they aren’t offered even if the base game is available, and those DLC are useless if the base game leaves the service.

Perhaps the devs get more money if you buy? Sorry if this is already explained somewhere, but I only jumped into Game Pass with WL3 and have yet to play/finish another game on the service.

No, that’s it.
