Re: Nex Machina, there’s a full extra level at the end that isn’t there on easy mode.

Just “finished” that, great game, hope they make a sequel. Only took an hour, so if anyone hasn’t tried it yet you’ve got… 4 hours ? left.

More leaving soon, 23 days on EA PC:

  • Escapists 2
  • Vambrace Cold Soul
  • Yooka Laylee (free on epic & gwg)

It’s cool but it kinda takes too goddamned long to do a run. An hour is a long ass time to keep up that kind of intensity, which on Experienced is considerable.

Man, I’m getting sucked into Twelve Minutes, but my only complaint is that this game feels designed for a mouse. And considering the amount of repetition that you have to do, the gamepad feels a bit clumsy.

Oh, and you cannot tell that it’s James McAvoy and Daisey Ridley at all. It’s Megan Ellison’s company, so she’s got all the Hollywood connections, but it seems like they could have cast any regular voice actors. Get all this British talent and then make them sound anonymously American.

Speaking of things on Game Pass, a slightly gussied up version of Quake (1996) is available on it and XCloud Gaming. Don’t remember if the old PC version had save anywhere but this does not, and man are the checkpoints in the campaign some serious BS.

Press Start on the controller and then you’ll see the options to save or load game in the menu. Or press RB to quick save or LB to quick load.

Agree with all of these points. Really weird to hire these British thespians with recognizable voices and then have them do generic American accents.

And yeah, the gameplay is repetitive but compelling. I want to know how it ends and I feel like I must be very close, but I’m starting to burn out.

I thought a made a major breakthrough in Twelve Minutes, but now it seems like a dead-end, and I really don’t want to look online. Gonna think about it.

Yeah, that’s like it’s whole deal it seems like. I don’t think there are actually any red herrings, but it’s kind of an odd game in that you don’t really know what your goals are at any point, so there’s a bunch of trail and error involved.

Well 3 weeks in and I’m still super impressed with the Series S. For 300 bucks it’s insane how much use I have gotten out of it. Playing Valhalla right now and in quality mode it looks amazing and even at 30 fps it seems smooth. I’d rather have that then drop it to the 60 fps. I also loaded up Flight Sim and holy crap it looks good. I’m sure the x blows it out of the water but damnnnn.

If anyone’s played any of that Quake 1 remaster I mentioned above, are you hearing the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack? I’m not hearing the music I remember from when I played it back in the day.

I’m hearing it fine. But that’s because I’m already very familiar with it, from hearing it a lot last year. The volume mix definitely makes it hard to hear. You could turn down the sound and keep the music at maximum and then crank up your speaker volume.

I read it’s super low in the Switch, if that’s your platform.

Is it just super low and atmospheric in the first few maps? I just got past the Necropolis. Maybe I’m remembering some stuff from later on, with more driving guitar.

Yep. It sure is. Here’s the first level:

Anyone who hasn’t played “Recompile” should do so. It’s a very cool game.

10 new indies published by Humble on Game Pass day 1.

They also just announced Crusader Kings 3 coming to Xbox (and GP Day 1). No date they mentioned, though.

Why must all information be communicated in the form of a video these days? Why can’t we just get a list?

Get a load of this one, boys! We got ourselves a reader!

I’m with @stusser. List here:
