That explains why it was on Recently Added for a day. And then disappeared.
Yeah, I enjoyed Taiko enough that I did the delta patch but it’s a bad look that you need to do that.
Namco Bandai posted about the problem the night the game released and still haven’t patched it, which is also a bad look when there’s a community fix.
Basically the game tries to silently log you in to Gamepass and take you straight to the menu, but can’t do that. The patch just forces the Gamepass logon screen to pop up so you can get in.
Gamepass is really dumb sometimes.
The weirdest thing to me is that decade ago I did compatibility testing for Xbox. I know the kind of list of things they have to do. I’ve got to think there’s a similar checklist for gamepass titles, so how could something so basic happen?
Wham! did a cover of Crazy Frog’s Last Christmas?
Yup. I tried to work on avoiding that happening again.
2 weeks later… same thing with Nowhere Prophet. :)
I bought a few I hadn’t finished before leaving in this week’s big Xbox sale.
New stuff coming to Game Pass, plus a few going away -
I should probably make time for Control.
Also, MLB The Show 2022 will be launching on Game Pass day one, April 5.
Anything we should be excited for in that new list?
I’ll drop the HLTB leaving in a post too:
-
Control (Cloud, Console, and PC) - 10 hours
-
Code Vein (Cloud, Console, and PC) - 25+ hours
-
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age (Console and PC) - 50+ hours
-
The Medium (Cloud, Console, and PC) - 8 hours
-
Project Winter (Cloud, Console, and PC) - multiplayer
-
The Falconeer (Cloud, Console, and PC) - 10+ hours
Good luck finishing all these in two weeks!
Too easy? We can also double dip FF XII in Windows & Xbox for more gamerscore.
I’m interested in Telling Lies, personally. It’s from the folks who made Her Story, and I’ve heard good things.

Yeah, my wife and I recently played (and loved) Her Story. Looking forward to trying Telling Lies.
Kind of nice that I don’t have to buy MLB The Show anymore. That’s 60 bucks a year saved right there.
Besiege (Game Preview)(Cloud, Console, and PC)
It’s still in EA?
Telling Lies didn’t grab me in the same way, not helped by the dumb way it handled scrubbing. Maybe it got patched though.
I thought the same. It isn’t anymore on Steam.
How do I find out where a Game Pass game is installed on my PC? I looked through the Program Files folders and found a couple of them in a “ModifiableWindowsApps” subfolder but there’s one I can’t find in any of them. The Xbox app is no help as far as I can tell. It’ll tell you the footprint of a game but won’t tell you where you installed it.
It depends what drive it’s on, but most of the time it seems to be locked away in an obfiscated WindowsApp directory, with no permission to look inside there. When I was using my C drive, it had a slightly different name, and I could actually look inside it. But now that I’ve made my new E drive the Game Pass drive, most of the stuff is installed inside the “WindowsApps” folder there, which is apparently 0 bytes big and empty. (Even though it really isn’t).
Basically they don’t want you looking in there because you should only have access while you’re a subscriber, so if they don’t hide things from people, I guess people will figure out a way to play the games even they’re no longer subscribed.
Hm, I’ve been meaning to try out Code Vein. How long do games generally last on Game Pass?
A lot of games are on there for a year, some longer. It varies. A year seems to be a popular timeframe though. Code Vein looks like it was added on February 18th, so it will have been on there almost exactly a year when it leaves.
Ah, thank you. Octopath Traveler and Nier Automata are on my list of games to try, and I see they were added March last year, so I should probably give those a go soon.

Agreed! I skipped this series for the past few years until last year when it came to Game Pass. I was the only person on Qt3 that voted for it in my top 5 of 2021 too. I hope this year is just as good if not better. But will there even be a season???
