I’m in the same boat, but in Dragon Quest XI it has a little summary as you load your save game to remind you what you were doing. So I figure it shouldn’t be too bad to get back to it.

I liked it - it reminded me quite a lot of Xenoblade 2 on Switch, and is a competent game, with a lot of interesting systems. The graphics are notably not triple A, but actually more in line with what you see on a Switch system.
Anyways - if you like JRPG’s, this is a pretty good game to try out.
I’m eager to give it a shot. I only dabble in JRPGs so Game Pass is perfect for this one.
I’m quite keen to hear more about Edge of Eternity as well, which is a standard turn-based JRPG and not an AJPRG. The youtube reviews have been middling unfortunately.
Side effects of constantly playing Taiko no Tatsujin on Gamepass: I’m in Barnes and Noble with my oldest on Saturday, standing in the manga/graphic novel section and it turns out I was absent mindedly humming a song from Taiko no Tatsujin, because a 20 something came over and said “is that that magical lesbian show?”
Which is quite the introduction when you’ve no context.
It turns out days of chasing the flawless crown for a song really jams it into your brain and I was humming the theme tune that I’m (now) reliably informed is referred to as “Miserable Magical Lesbians.”

I tried it this weekend. To me it felt like they took a traditional turn-based JRPG and tried to implement a very simplified version of a tactical turn-based game. For example, there is limited grid movement, increased damage from back attacks, etc. I don’t play a lot of JRPGs, but don’t remember seeing similar systems used often in what I have tried before. I thought the story was decent and graphically it is solid but not outstanding. While it doesn’t go as far as I would like on the tactical side, I enjoyed the couple hours I spent and plan to continue.
Thanks for that short write up. GamePass makes it perfect to maybe dip my toes and try it out since I do like more than just the usual you-go-they-go in JRPGs.
Miserable Magical Lesbians is a good show I recommend (and at first it was hard to watch for me, given the art style…). The end is a bit of deus ex machina but oh well.
I like the art style of Madoka but I am told it gets very depressing so I have no motivation to keep watching

I thought you were referring to this show
This one! (Netflix)
Or here! (Anime planet)
I did not know about it, but I try to learn something new every day so “Miserable Magical Lesbians” had Saturday covered for me.
tiny apologies for the derail
I had no idea Madoka Magicka was referred to that way but it’s a crazy, brutal ride if you want to watch it. It’s good.
PC heavy for the remainder of February.
Leaving at the end of the month:
-
Hypnospace Outlaw (Cloud, Console, and PC)
-
Killer Queen Black (Cloud and Console)
-
Stealth Inc 2 (Cloud and Console)
-
Touhou Luna Nights (Cloud, Console, and PC)
-
Titanfall (Console, PC)
Any of these worth checking out before they leave?
Think Hypnospace Outlaw might have been in one of Tom’s top 10s, probably one of @Left_Empty 's favourite games as well.
Never played it.
Toho luna nights, though, is the best Symphony of the Night clone ever made, and it’s even so good it’s less than 10 hours long!
Killer Queen Black is a really fun multiplayer game, even with randos, but be prepared to purchase it if you like it.
TW - Warhammer 3? Might get me back on the PC for a bit.
Still holding out for Elden Ring on the console tho!
So you’ve got a weapon that makes things seem trivial until you miss and then suddenly it’s not?
Oh, and 10 hours! So it’s a really long game!
It’s so good you have a single weapon and you won’t even care.

Well, I totally failed in my attempt to finish Code Vein before it expired (finished the cathedral area, which I think is around halfway maybe). Maybe I’ll do better with Toho Luna Nights.
The nice thing is whoever the publisher is for Code Vein puts it on deep sale all the time, so I can always catch that on a sale if I run out of Souls-likes and want to futz around with classes on the fly, or whatever the heck is going on in Code Vein.
Btw, are the games gone today, or is today the last day? If it’s the last day, I’d like to make a little more progress on “Control” tonight. I’m still not liking the game, hoping it will get better.
