Oh, nice. I’ve still never got past the minefield in Full Throttle. Might have to replay it and hopefully finish it at last.

That’s awesome! Looking forward to replaying those games. My wife is a huge fan of DOTT too.

How well do these remasters control with a game pad?

Not sure if anyone is in the same boat as me, but figured I’d pass this info along.

So I haven’t had an XBox since the 360, but I’m getting a Series X, assuming that Best Buy actually makes good on the pre-order.

Anyway, a big part of that is the gamepass for me, but here’s the deal that I’m going with.

Currently, they are still converting XBL Gold over to Game Pass ultimate, at a ratio of 1:1, if you aren’t currently on game pass. They will convert a max of 3 years.

You can still buy XBL Gold on amazon, via digital codes, ala here:
https://smile.amazon.com/Xbox-Live-Gold-Membership-Digital/dp/B002VBWIP6/

So you can buy 3 years of XBL Gold for $180, and then flip on Game Pass ultimate, and you’ll have 3 years of ultimate which is worh $540, which is a pretty good deal.

Honestly Game Pass Ultimate, for 3 years for only $180 is a pretty insanely good deal.

Yes it absolutely is. I did that conversion while back, and it’s been some of the best money I’ve spent on games. Doing it right now at the start of the generation should be an even better one.

I don’t really know what this is but what the heck, I’ll give it a go.

I’ll probably try it, but I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to start the video and discovered that it was pixel art instead of what’s on the splash screen.

Yeah, I was also expecting something different, but the pixels grew on me since the cityscapes seemed pretty well made. I’m not a fan of retro pixel games, but this thread helped my understanding of this “genre”. It looks like people actually WANT the games to look old! ;)

If you weren’t aware, you can link your Xbox and Steam account to get cross platform friend recommendations.

Thanks, I’ll need to do that.

I had forgotten that they have cloud streaming with the game pass now too, so you can do things like play Gears 5 on your phone.

Has anyone tried it yet? I think it streams from your Xbox/PC, not the cloud, right?

Cloud. It’s part of the regular Game Pass app now, and worked okay for me.

It streams from the cloud, but you have to have a controller, I think.

The iOS app does not stream from the cloud, it’s remote play to an Xbox console. MS and Apple haven’t hashed out the whole cloud access thing yet.

Yeah this made me think it was streamed from console

and

Play games installed on your Xbox console, including Xbox Game Pass titles, to any compatible Android or iOS device

So that’s only for IOS. I can play tons of games on my old OnePlus 5T with my PC and Xbox off.

Works nicely with an Xbox controller.

That said, my crappy router downstairs is years old and only does 2.4ghz. I’m planning to upgrade it soon and will likely play with this some more once that’s been done. No Man’s Sky has a good framerate, but is full of refresh artefacts on my old router.

What! Is this new? Does it work with any game?

It’s hilarious how bad their messaging is on this. I didn’t realize it was cloud gaming until sometime over the summer- I thought it was only console streaming. And half the people seem to think the reverse.
