Unfortunately I don’t think Windows PCs are supported yet. Only Android.

Holy crap, i just played doom on my pixel 2 XL, and it actually worked and played well.

I mean, aside from the fact the screen was way too small.

But it played better than when i tried to stream games from my own ps4 to my vita.

This is nice, some Xcloud games now playable without the controller

Great news! Here’s a list of the supported games:

Dead Cells
Gucamelee! 2
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hotshot Racing
Killer Instinct
New Super Lucky’s Tale
Slay The Spire
Streets of Rage 4
Tell Me Why
UnderMine
Minecraft Dungeons

edit: List corrected.

It’s October 22nd and I’m pretty sure Cricket is supposed to be on Gamepass today but I don’t see any Cricket on Gamepass. Where is my cricket Microsoft, you bastards.

Cricket19 is showing up on my Xbox One.

It’s console only. EDIT: Also available via Cloud streaming.

My life is in ruins.

As if anyone who owns a console understands cricket!

I’ll have to admit I’ve been thinking of installing Cricket19 just to have a better understanding of this game that Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin play in the Patrick O’Brian books.

I read the rules at some point, IIRC I was trying to figure out whether one of the books was implying that Stephen was actually good at the game or not. But reading the rules of the game isn’t the same as actually trying to play a game.

Reading the laws (!) of cricket without seeing it in action would only make it seem even more ridiculous I fear.

Indeed.

36.1 Out LBW

The striker is out LBW if all the circumstances set out in 36.1.1 to 36.1.5 apply.

36.1.1 The bowler delivers a ball, not being a No ball

36.1.2 the ball, if it is not intercepted full-pitch, pitches in line between wicket and wicket or on the off side of the striker’s wicket

36.1.3 the ball not having previously touched his/her bat, the striker intercepts the ball, either full-pitch or after pitching, with any part of his/her person

36.1.4 the point of impact, even if above the level of the bails,

either is between wicket and wicket

or if the striker has made no genuine attempt to play the ball with the bat, is between wicket and wicket or outside the line of the off stump.

36.1.5 but for the interception, the ball would have hit the wicket.

36.2 Interception of the ball

36.2.1 In assessing points in 36.1.3, 36.1.4 and 36.1.5, only the first interception is to be considered.

36.2.2 In assessing point 36.1.3, if the ball makes contact with the striker’s person and bat simultaneously, this shall be considered as the ball having first touched the bat.

36.2.3 In assessing point 36.1.5, it is to be assumed that the path of the ball before interception would have continued after interception, irrespective of whether the ball might have pitched subsequently or not.

36.3 Off side of wicket

The off side of the striker’s wicket shall be determined by the striker’s stance at the moment the ball comes into play for that delivery. See Appendix A.13.

I mean, since I am already familiar with the game, none of that sounds complicated even though that’s the first time I’m reading the rules written down like that. But I imagine it probably sounds complicated if you’re not familiar with the game.

A couple days ago, I booted up Scourge Bringer on a whim and it kind of hooked me. Chunky graphics but I like the snappy, responsive controls and overall simplicity of the design.

And apparently I had good timing because it just went from early access to version 1.0. I messed around with the new version last night and it seems like they’ve added plenty of new ideas and smoothed the difficulty. Seems much less punishing.

I’d recommend it! Nice little palette cleanser in between the “bigger” games you might be playing.

I remember back in my Microsoft days I took a visiting gentleman from India to a Mariners game and he spent the entire time trying to explain the rules of cricket to me. Thank god there was beer.

Cricket is a game where a bunch of people stand around while someone else tries to figure out whether the last ball was in or not.

Heh, I’ve had those guys on my mind too, because I’m playing The Return of the Obra Dinn, and I’ve been pondering whether to buy the boardgame “Flying Colors,” set in the age of sail. Those are such great books. I wish someone would pick up where O’Brian left off. (Maybe someone has?) And I wish they’d do a proper movie series. I enjoyed the movie “Master and Commander,” but it was really an amalgamation of several books, not just book one.

A rapacious grin ran round the Cumberlands: they moved much closer in, crouching, their huge crab-like hands spread wide. The Admiral held the ball to his nose for a long moment, fixing his adversary, and then delivered a lob that hummed as it flew. Stephen watched its course, danced out to take it as it touched the ground, checked its bounce, dribbled the ball towards the astonished cover-point and running still he scooped it into the hollow of his hurley, raced on with twinkling steps to mid-off, there checked his run amidst the silent stark amazement, flicked the ball into his hand, tossed it high, and with a screech drove it straight at Jack’s wicket, shattering the near stump and sending its upper half into a long, graceful trajectory that reached the ground just as the first of La Flèche’s guns, saluting the flag, echoed across the field.

Stephen confuses cricket with hurling, a game he played when young, but I think O’Brian is implying he has a good eye and bat control and would be pretty decent. :D

Thanks @Pedro. It’s always hard to tell with Stephen, while he’s incompetent at a lot, there’s also a bunch of things he’s great at in addition to surgery like dueling.

Nice Game Pass update for the month here. Have been curious to check out both Deep Rock Galactic and Eastshade. And Celeste is excellent for anyone who missed it.
