Haha yeah same. I got my first year free from Verizon, so I got excited about NOT having to pay for it once that year is up because it was bundled in to this. Oh well. It’s well worth the $8 to me. We watch it a lot.
Eh, still pretty good for me, I can finally see what the fuss is about with Mandalorian, and I guess Disney’s recent “theatrical” releases, given that I’m never going to pay for the service.
Those perks are always just trials. There’s a few disney+ shows I want to see, so yay. I’d re-watch a few kids shows like Darkwing Duck but I’m sure they’re better as a memory…

Maybe one of you fine individuals can give me an answer here, I’ve looked elsewhere but no joy. I have a game pass sub, if I was the get the girlfriend one of the new Xbox’ would we be able to use the same account at the same time? Like if I’m on pc can she be playing on the Xbox at the same time using my GP log in? And if yes, could we play co-op games like Gears 5 together?
Yes, but not quite the way you describe.
On PC you need to be logged into the Windows Store and Xbox app using the subscribed account. Sounds like you are there already.
On the Xbox you would log in with the same account. Your girlfriend would setup her own free account. As long as that Xbox is your account’s “home” system - the default if you only have one - then your girlfriend is set. She can play any games you have purchased and downloaded to the console. She can play online. That’s true for anyone else who logs in on your Xbox too.
The one catch with this method is that new game pass games need to be downloaded on the Xbox by your account. The two choices are:
- Your girlfriend logs in as you temporarily to download new games.
- You use the Xbox Game Pass mobile app to remotely install new games.
The latter is pretty painless.
Finally, if you ever decide to upgrade get a second Xbox, you can log into it with your account and simultaneously play games with your girlfriend on your “home” Xbox.
Once you designate your Xbox as the home, your girlfriend sets up her own account (not Gold, just her own MS account) and she could share your Gold access while logged in to the home console. If you’re on PC, the two of you can use your Gold privileges at the same time.

On console, all the EA play games are now listed in the Recently Added area. Except, for some reason Jedi Fallen Order. But if you do a search for it in the store, it comes up as being on EA Play, but without the usual GP ‘Install Now’ tag. But if you actually go to the game page, it lets you install it via GP.
Deep Rock Galactic, Celeste, Eastshade, Rocket Arena, Planet Coaster are all on GP now, too.

Really? I’d thought they moved the start dates for the whole thing up a month.
Ok, so I’ve got the PC version of Gamepass paid through May I think (mostly free through bing rewards). I just ordered an Xbox X and will need to upgrade to Ultimate. Is there a proper way to do this to maximize my months/$ or is that only for people new to the service?
You can see plenty of detail upthread, but if you have not used the $1 ultimate trial, the thing to do is add up to three years of prepaid Xbox live to your account, then use the trial, which will cover all Xbox live months (and October gamepass months) to ultimate. Since you will get an extra month each time you add time, I’d get two 12 month codes
