Yes, I downloaded it (30GB)

For some reason, River City Girls is stuck at pending.

I suspect they made it available for download prematurely. When I try to launch Call of the Sea, it says I’m too early.

Looks like Call of the Sea is slated for Dec 8, River City Girls for Nov 19.

Can you actually play it, though? A few times I’ve been able to download things early, but when you go to play, a message pops up that says “you’re too early”. Happened last week with Tetris Effect, actually.

Edit: haha I paused in the middle of writing that to rant to my friend for a minute, and when I came back to finish you’d already posted a response. Sorry!

Don’t know if it’s because just rolled over to Nov 19th at midnight over here, but successfully started up River City Girls just now - now to do the annoying Steam mojo to get my Steam controller recognised in-game.

I didn’t see Call to the Sea, but the banner finally refreshed (I often get blank tiles there so I know there’s a new game coming/arrived but annoyingly it doesn’t load?) and I see Mount and Blade Warband as the other new PC game.

I think I canceled Game Pass Ultimate a month ago (mainly using it via Xbox One). Just now I was offered to resub (via the PC app) Ultimate for 1 € plus two free months. Huh? Okay! Thanks.

Is this a thing? Well, it worked for me (2/25/2021). Just a heads-up for anybody in a similar situation (I really like to try out Wasteland 3, lets see if there is any special offer…)

If your gamepass expires, that gives you another opportunity to do the thing where you can buy XBL Gold time, and convert it at 1:1 to gamepass time, where you are essentially paying only $5 a month.

Sometimes I don’t mind finding out that a Game is Leaving Soon. I’ve had Mutant Year Zero installed for a super long time but only spent about 20 minutes with it in the past year or so. But now that I learned my time is running out, I realize I kind of like having the incentive to play now while I still can.

I’m liking it a lot after putting in 3-4 hours yesterday and today. I like the streamlined approach to Xcom-bat, inventory, and leveling up, and I especially enjoy the increased focus on exploration and freedom of movement. I’ve had to balance my approach between winning fights and doing some stealthy exploration in higher-level enemy areas to collect scrap that I need for medkits and weapon upgrades.

The writing is a mixed bag, but sometimes it’s pretty good! For example:

Almost LOL worthy!

I don’t know if I can reach the end of the game before MYZ Leaves Game Pass but, dammit, I’m gonna try!

Is it sacrilege if I like Mutant Year Zero and Gears Tactics better than XCOM?

It was free on Epic Store at one point.

I adored Mutant Year Zero. A Goldilocks of length and complexity with a nice heaping of personality.

I’m glad to hear ‘length’ is in the sweet spot as well!

Not sure how I missed it as an Epic Store freebie. I’ve been good about getting most of those… maybe it was in the summer when I was away from home and my PC for a few weeks. Should’ve kept up using my phone.

But even if I did have the game on the Epic Store, I’d still just be letting it gather cyber-dust in the backlog.

Thereby, I say it’s high time we all embrace the ‘Leaving Soon’ Game Pass experience not as a burden, not as a nuisance, but rather an opportunity, my friends! Gems in the backlog need a little arbitrary pressure to get us playing them! Huzzah!

I want to get Demon’s Tilt to own, as well as the already departed Creature in the Well but am holding out for deeper discounts.

It definitely was for me. At this point in my gaming life I appreciate games that don’t overstay their welcome, needlessly pad, or involve grind.

Checking my stats I put 27.9 hours into the game, but that total includes the DLC expansion. So the core game is probably around 16-20 hours depending on how deliberate one plays. I left feeling quite satisfied with the length and not “C’mon let’s get this over with!” that many games produce now.

YES! More finish-able games, please.

I’m finding that MYZ crashes to desktop quite often on saves and loads. Fortunately it boots and loads quickly and I don’t lose progress when it happens but it’s still a nuisance.

Absolutely. That’s the only reason I started playing Darksiders 3 recently and loved it! It’s a shame I wasn’t able to finish it, but hey, the Thanksgiving sale just started and all 3 Darksiders games (with DLC) for $33 is looking mighty tempting to me now.

I love the Leaving Soon Game Pass experience! So say we all. Huzzah!

So I understand that Jedi Fallen Order is now part of Game Pass via EA Play on the consoles.

Knowing that the console version of EA Play is the basic level I thought the game would also be available in the basic level of Origin Access on PC. I checked last night, but found it is still on the Premium or Pro tier on PC, which confused me.

I understand that the EA Play integration with Game Pass Ultimate on PC should arrive in December. Do we know if Jedi Fallen Order will then be available through Game Pass on PC in December once that roll out is complete?

It just seemed strange to me that the game is part of the basic level on consoles yet not PC…unless the EA Play integration with Game Pass is some other hybrid beast entirely.

I think it’s rolling out on PC mid Dec

Presumably if it is on basic Origin Access in December it will be on Game Pass Ultimate on PC, if not, it won’t. Given that they seemed to time the release of it on EA Play with the integration on console, it seems reasonably likely that it will be on basic Origin Access by then. But who knows? EA never seem to communicate about this stuff in advance.

Thanks to both, cheers!

Yeahh! I found out Darksiders 3 was leaving with only a few days remaining before it was set to disappear but I think I need the full two weeks to have a chance at finishing a game. I gave it an hour or two and kinda liked it but also found it frustrating so I just uninstalled. I might’ve done an impulse purchase if it was in the $20 range… Thanksgiving sale you say??
