I’m still plugging away at MYZ, killing Ghouls and Polis Bots and Zone Dogs… almost at level 30.
One mechanic that I really love in this game is how it ties your special ability resets to kills… so even if a new combat encounter begins, you might still have to earn a few more kills before you can fire off your Hog Rush or Tree Hugger. Very cool.

Just did that, and even got an extra month for turning on automatic billing. Doesn’t seem to be repeatable though, as I turned it off and they didn’t offer it again the second time. Extended out to July 2023 now.
Do I have to redeem this immediately?

This was the first game I installed since joining Game Pass Ultimate last year, and I played the bejeesus out of it! 21 achievements. Definitely got my money’s worth. I don’t think I need to buy it anymore, but it’s on my steam wishlist anyways.
I’m now deep in the Rewards points club, and am playing many of the “games leaving soon” for the daily 50 pts achievements. Doing this got me hooked on Talos Principle and Wandersong. So, good job, Microsoft, for steering me away from playing Yakuza Like a Dragon full time!
I know that everyone has been on the edge of their seats just burning with anticipation for an update so I’m proud to report that I DID IT! I BEAT MUTANT YEAR ZERO LAST NIGHT! And with 5 days to spare before it disappeared.
I enjoyed it a lot. I had to muster all the strategy and skill to handle the final battle but it was immensely satisfying when I came up with the right plan and executed it. So fun!

Fuck the obfuscated file system of MS Store apps/games. Moving the 120GB install of Halo MCC to another drive ended up talking twice as much space because it didn’t delete the first.

Bah! I had to reinstall windows and the game pass app doesn’t see my files anymore and I can’t move the files to another folder. I was going to try to move them back after starting to reinstall the game. It looks like I have to change the security permissions on each folder that has the files, delete them, and then download them all over again. What a pain.
Man, I am coming really close to buying Dishonored 2 and Prey caue they are on 80% off sales, but I’m just assuming by the time I get around to it in a few months they’ll be on game pass (once the MS sale goes through).

We’re still expecting a few Final Fantasies too.
Dragon Quest 11 is coming this week. I just started Crosscode & Ikenfell, both look great. Gonna be a lot of RPGs for me this month!

Guess I should have looked hah. I thought it exited Game Pass. I guess that’s why I thought I had bought it previously but couldn’t find it.
Also of course Control is coming to game pass now that I just bought it (and bought it on GMG so I can’t return it). I really should stop buying games…
It was going to exit GamePass but then the Bethesda deal was announced and it got a reprieve I think.
Also, super weird quirk of Game Pass I noticed now that I’ve rejoined: their recently added games list stops after 15 games or so. The one time I want infinite scroll and I don’t get it.
The strange thing is it’s the same way on the library website. You see those recent games and then it goes straight to alphabetical. Kind of annoying.

Nice, glad I passed on picking up Eternal during the recent sales. Not a game I would replay ever but I did want to check out.
