Yet, at the present, it’s Fox News keeping up the narrative while it was mostly political coverups in the 70s and 80s. Breaking the “conservatives” out of the GOP bubble is going to require dismantling the GOP propaganda machine.

p.s. Also Citizens United and Facebook and other similar policies, laws, and organizations.

Maybe, but conservatives of good conscience didn’t realize things were rotten until Trump is pure bunk. They all saw an addled Reagan and covered it up. They all saw Oliver North’s performance before Congress and applauded it. They all saw Bush the Elder sweep it under the rug. They all watched Starr stalk Clinton for 5 years and cheered him on. They rallied around the Bush and Cheney lies about Iraq. They all became apologists for torture, and did everything they could to prevent any accountability for the torturers. They cheered McConnell’s 8 years of obstruction culminating in his theft of a Supreme Court seat.

I think Mr Vast, is missing a key fact. They don’t allow cellphones in jail. If Republican lose big in 2020 that very will may end Trump’s hold on the party.

I’ve always said that the Republican Party is made up of the dupers and the duped. One group is in on the sick joke and the other is stupid enough not to see it.

The tweet is from the Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party. Below is the AP story

Maybe folks need to start intimidating the GOP trash that is going to try to intimidate voters.

Like… just beat the fuck out of them.

Violence at polling places will not increase turnout.

Maybe it’ll let a bunch of old fucks know that they aren’t Kings of the world anymore and can’t do whatever they want.

But but but a couple black dudes stood outside one polling location for an hour in 2012, which tots gave Obama his win, so this is justified. Right?

book learnin never did nobody good

I like how this is the second time this happened and she only got back to work last week after this same shit.

I wonder who she thinks are going to be the slaves.

Same story, more details, seems as terrible as you think it is.

It’s not the first time the Palmdale School District has been embroiled in controversy over the actions of staff members.

In September, four elementary school teachers were placed on leave after a photo of them smiling and holding a noose went viral. According to officials, the teachers’ pose was not motivated by racism.

The teachers and the principal, who took the photograph, said in a report they didn’t know of the racial hatred a noose symbolizes.

Gosh, I can’t imagine why this keeps happening here.

Right… it’s just an everyday thing that someone walks around creating nooses to take a picture of. They put on any sheets lately with points on them not realizing what that means too?

“We thought we were being ghosts, not sure why anyone is upset about it…”

The principal resigned after the noose incident, so it’s not like there were no consequences.

The noose thing is weird. There’s no context for the picture other than them holding it. They found the noose when they were going through a storage room. It might have been an old Halloween decoration. I am willing to at least give credence to the possibility that it wasn’t meant in a racist way but simply they found it and they were having a WTF did we just find moment over it and decided to take a photo of it.

You know, just a few days ago I flashed the OK sign because throughout my life that simply meant “ok”. As soon as I did it I remembered it’s now a white supremacy sign so I felt bad, but damn it’s hard to remember.

This… is different than this:

they didn’t know of the racial hatred a noose symbolizes.

Because what they said is just bullshit. There is no way they didn’t know that, but if they said something like oh we found it, took a picture and just forgot when we took the picture that this was not only a sign of hatred and intimidation but people were actually murdered, in masses using something like this but ooh no, they had to feign complete innocence.

Maybe, but I was shown a house by a real estate agent about 30 years ago and when I went into the attic there was a rope with a noose at the end hanging from a beam. I didn’t associate it with racism but with dumb kids doing dumb stuff. The real estate agent was certainly surprised by the noose!

I am not saying the teachers are innocent, only that I see room to doubt their guilt. I have run across many people who are surprisingly niave about many things. That’s all.

Also, one of the teachers in the photo was this one:

The Times reported that one of the teachers in the photo was the first-grade teacher of Gabriel Fernandez, the 8-year-old boy who was tortured and murdered by his mother, Pearl Sinthia Fernandez, and the mother’s boyfriend, Isauro Aguirre, in 2013. The teacher had repeatedly reported signs of abuse before the boy’s death.

That doesn’t sound like a racist. That sounds like a teacher concerned about one of her students, a latino student.

Despite what is happening in the country today, the bulk of racism is subtle and loaded with excuses. It is rarely the spitfire screaming from some sort of pulpit. And that poor boy was not black. The noose is associated with a specific group.

I get all this. I still see some room to wonder if they held that noose up as a symbol of racism? I am much more aware now of lynchings, but there was a time in my life when I would have associated a noose with hangings in the old west and not lynchings in the south. It was also a common form of execution in Europe for a long time, so I’ve read many scenes in novels that depict hangings. It’s not only the province of lynchings.
