None of this surprises me. Many conservative religious institutions exclude rather than include, and hypocrisy is rampant.

Honestly, don’t we remember that God hates rainbows, because they are a nagging reminder of his pinky-swear promise not to destroy the earth with floods again?

8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark. 11 I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my [rain]bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the [rain]bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the [rain]bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

Well, remember that they are ‘teaching’ his word. In their own way. Not what he actually said. The same as any money hungry ‘preacher’. “This is what I personally understand that the bible means.”

And by “his word” they almost always mean the Old Testament.

Because nearly all of Jesus’ words are problematic for what they’re pushing.

Well that’s great God, but what about the myriad other ways you could destroy the earth?

Dude. Nuclear has never been done. And it would save me from showing my omnipresent power. A word in a few ears and the job is done.

Thank me later.

Oh ho ho ho. You can’t. Y’all dust. I like dust. I make stuff out of it. You fuckers are my sandbox game.

Well that’s fine, God, but is ironman turned on or something? Please feel free to save scum 2016 until stuff turns out differently.

Dear God. So what context does he think that comment would be okay in?

A locker room, probably.

“I apologize for the misunderstanding yesterday and for offending Allison Donahue," Lucido said in the statement.

Great apology there.

To be fair it’s slightly better than “I apologize that you got offended.”

“Misunderstanding?” Good forking grief. What was it he thought to be understood?

He just meant they could have a lot of fun learning about journalism!

The neat thing about double entendres is that you can pick and choose which part you actually meant so they’re really easy to lie about. It’s catnip to a politician!

Forty percent of Americans need to die off.

How about this instead. Make sure that everyone who can vote, does vote. Then that 40% is powerless.

As someone who lives in a country with compulsory voting, this isn’t a silver bullet. Turns out people who don’t care enough to vote (unless its compulsory) don’t always make rational decisions.

Latest polls have it at 42%, we need to get the figure right.

PS - I think what we’re seeing is the biggest downside to modern medicine, lengthening lifespans has produced a large class of voters who sop up propaganda like a wonder mop and have nothing better to do than to vote in every election until death.

Not while they’re gerrymandering and rigging to purge voter rolls of anyone who doesn’t look like them.

I wasn’t thinking about compulsory voting. It was some pie in the sky fantasy that people would get off their collective asses. Stupid, I know. :)
