I realize I am in the minority in that I could, without much difficulty, label probably all but maybe 15-20 countries on an unmarked map. And make reasonable guesses on even those (Central Africa, particularly Cote dā€™Ivory/ Liberia/ Ghana and Zambia/ Zimbabwe areas being where Iā€™d have the most difficulty), but Iā€™m not sure which is more embarrassing. That he trued to pull a cheap dominance stunt like this and it backfired, or the fact that probably 75% of people on the street not only couldnā€™t find Ukraine on a map but that they probably wouldnā€™t even at least mark a country on the Black Sea.

Pompeoā€™s statement is not remotely credible.

If he had suggested that Kelly mistakenly pointed to Belarus, that could at least been plausible, although still extremely unlikely for sometime with a degree from Cambridge in European studies.

But Bangladesh? A country in southeastern Asia, nowhere near Europe? Thereā€™s just no way thatā€™s true.

And the reality is that tomorrow weā€™ll just move past this, where the is department of state published not just a lie, but a lie executed with profound thoughtlessness and incompetence.
