I found this quite amusing. As a response to Democrats wanting to remove statues of Confederate soldiers in Virginia and Richmond, a Virginia delegate, Republican of course, introduced a bill to remove a statue of Robert Byrd, A well-known Democratic governor… Who is also a terrible racist and segregationist. A number of Democrats asked if they could cosponsor the bill. And said they would love to vote for it. So the guy is trying to withdraw his bill, unsuccessfully so far.
Don’t tell anyone but Jeff Davis was a Democrat too.
