10+ Senators with the exact same message, word for word.
I’ll toss one pair up rather than scroll the thread five times.

This is from the news conference republican senators gave earlier to voice their concern that the relief bill may give too much in unemployment benefits and the lazy poors may not want to go back to work to save the Senators’ investment portfolios. The reporter asking the question at ~5:30 deserves a prize.
Clearly the ethical thing to do is to send all citizens aged over 70 into the desert to die and remove the burden from society.

The next question should have been about the incentives in the bill about small business companies keeping their employees to have reduced payback of the Federal loan. It’s all about keeping people on the payrolls and it’s completely idiotic to believe people will get off their jobs to claim $600 or so for four months.

If The believe that people want to work (which they do) then they can’t really say that people are going to choose not to work.

They can when they’re the pro-life party of Christian values.

I don’t know what it is with this party that constant believes there are just tens of millions of people out there eager to live on almost nothing all the time.

They believe those welfare dollars buy steaks, lobsters and cadillacs.

And it’s always steak and lobster too. It doesn’t matter what part of the country someone is from, what their household diet is too, heck even vegans are probably out there just trying to sleep all day and eat their steaks off some poor working persons dollars… (sigh)
The vegans just buy the steak and lobster to throw away.
You guys mention the steak and lobster story but there is also a lot of envy of an idealized poor lifestyle where not having to work for the bossman magically brings family togetherness, time for all sorts of frugality, and simple living.
It’s not even that. It’s that the message plays to their base. They believe in nothing but furthering the interests of the elite ruling class, of which most are either a part of or hope to curry favor with.
They also know that the deficit will eventually have an impact on the elites, so if they can cut any spending that directly impacts the elites, huzzah!
Is that real? Or shopped?

Isn’t it amazing that we even have to ask. No, it’s not real. Yet.

Yeah, you know what, fuck that company.
“Sir, the poor people are revolting!”
“You’re telling me?! Can’t we give them a bath or something?”
