It was certainly in the textbooks I read. I had an 8th grade teacher who was obsessed with the Civil War.
Also, there are about 4,525,640 civil war books published every month, and as I read a fair number of them, I can affirm that many of them treat the Confederacy as a thing.

Ron Perlman is apparently fighting all the GOP folks now, because after he said something about Matt Gaetz, Gaetz then came back with the awesome zinger about how Perlman was a white supremacist… on a TV show.

Anyway, now Ted Cruz is saying, “Oh yeah? I bet you won’t WRESTLE JIM JORDAN!” apparently without realizing how talking about wrestling is probably not what Jim Jordan wants.

Also, despite being a pretty huge guy, Perlman is in fact 70 years old… so even if Jim Jordan could beat him up, that’s not really an awesome look for him no matter how it turns out.

If the GOP didn’t already have deep and pervasive rot at its core then Donald Trump would never have been able to destroy it as quickly as he did but it’s still remarkable to see just how quickly the entire party became… this. I really don’t know how any serious individual can continue calling themselves Republicans in 2020. And how does the party move forward once the figurehead of the cult is gone? Do they just keep digging and anoint Junior to lead them?

I mean, Trump is bad enough but I’m watching (without exaggeration or hyperbole) a social media exchange from a Senator and a Congressman that sounds like it came straight from middle school.
