Shot at Spiro Agnew outta nowhere.

Yeah, uh, I think I see the problem here. How the hell does one guy have so much influence over what is happening in a state? This makes it sound like he’s more powerful than the governor, at least behind the scenes, and since it’s at the state level there is probably a lot less scrutiny of his actions than you would expect, at least until something goes wrong, which is probably how this investigation got started in the first place.

Are you under some naive impression that there is not a similarly powerful legislator in every state? It’s the equivalent of US Speaker / Sen Maj leader - they get to decide what gets a vote and what does not, except with more power and less scrutiny at the state level.

Willie Brown wasn’t known as the Ayatollah of the Assembly in California without reason.

The Householder case is about the nuclear bailout battle just a while back. It was widely discussed at the time that there were shady back-room dealers trying to masquerade as a pro-consumer group.

Wasn’t sure which thread to put this in, but since it’s about Republicans lying, seems this one will do?

I live a couple of miles away from this place… it’s only been open a few years. I haven’t been there, mainly because I’m not really a beer drinker, but from what I know about the owners, they are big on supporting veterans and other non-partisan fundraisers, and indeed, I have not heard of them being politically active. They seem like really stand up people.

I’m sure they have political opinions, but just choose not to engage in them, and I can’t blame them… why purposely alienate potential customers? Though Freeport is pretty blue, indeed, most of Cumberland County is.

I’m somewhat concerned about where this event is going to move to, and I can’t help but wonder whether any of the people coming are complying with our governor’s self-quarantine and mask mandates. (Probably not.)

Nope, I was being sarcastic. I have always maintained that there is no way we should allow this much power to reside in one person in every state (or with Mitch ā€œnot going to vote on that todayā€ McConnell at the federal level). It is a recipe for abuse of power, and circumvents the entire ā€œwe elected a whole congressā€ idea of representation. Just another bullet point for government reform (that will likely never happen).

A freedom caucus / Liz Cheney death match is a step in the right direction. Let’s give them weapons.

ā€œTwo men…err, people enter, one person leaves!ā€

How about… zero leave. Thats good too.

She votes with trump 97% of the time.

If both survive the Lirpa, combat will continue with the Ahn-Woon!

But that 3% makes her IMPURE.

It’s like homeopathic water. The lower the percentage, the more power it has.
