@HideousRex welcome to QT3! This is the place where we like to digress, and occasionally discuss stuff. Would you like you some posts about pizza in the middle of politics? We’ve got you covered!

Survey says yes.

I explicitly said they were different. I fully respect your medical training.

OMT is bunk pseudoscience and that is demonstrated repeatedly in studies throw it on the pile with acupuncture and cupping and other lower back pain cures.

I FOUND MY SPIRIT ANIMAL

My job isnt to convince you that you are wrong, it is to make sure that your false claims are called out.

My patients who have had relief from chronic pain would beg to differ with your unsubstantiated claims.

You do realize that the techniques I am talking about are also done by physical and occupational therapists and PMNR physicians? Are you gonna tell the world that physical therapy and rehab are worthless pseudoscience? Cause thats what you are saying, i have to assume in ignorance of what OMM actually encompasses.

At the risk of drawing the wrath of @Sharpe I must ask…

… if the placebo effect is real,
… and if it only works if a placebo is thought to be an ‘actual’ treatment,
… then is that sufficient justification for certain treatments which are in a sense ‘fake’ but which are effective placebo-effect triggers? Kabuki medicine, if you will?
… but in that case are we then not sanctioning deliberate deception as a part of medicine?

There’s a weird paradox in there. If e.g. acupuncture is B.S., but it works to relieve pain because of the placebo effect, but it only works if the patient doesn’t believe it’s B.S. …

(None of this speculation is meant to apply to osteopathic methods on which I plead utter ignorance.)

There are studies that show that placebos work even if the patient is told they’re placebos. Medicine! Am I right!?

Wow, that’s pretty weird.

Why all this bother with doctors, real or imagined? Lord Trump can recover his full allotment of spells every night with a long rest. Plus by drawing upon the souls of his faithful, I believe he can cast an additional 5th lvl or lower spell every day for each soul he consumes.

Hey, someone told me the GOP was corrupt.

Really? How corrupt are they?

Sorry, this is the pizza thread…

Corrupt enough to sideline this thread!

In general, I’d say they’re somewhere in the ballpark of US ODs?

(That’s 100% a joke, @Banzai)

Can paladins cast 7th lvl spells though? I have a feeling they might be limited to 5th and below but maybe that’s my faulty memory of old 2nd edition rules. Either way, much better and more reliable than doctors.

Get a room you guys. It’s not hard. You just click NEW TOPIC.

What a joke that Fauci was forced to waste his time for this clown.

The degeneracy of the GOP in my short lifetime has truly been something to behold.

Sir, this is an Arby’s
