Cheney may be horrible, but sheâs not a traitor.
Whatâs up with Trumpâs 18th century capitalization?
Greg Sargent makes a good point.
Relatedly, describing Republicans as âcowardsâ who âfear Trumpâ casts their machinations as mere reluctant efforts to cope with externally imposed circumstances theyâd prefer not to be dealing with. This lets Republicans off the hook in a very fundamental way. It risks misleading the country about the true depths of GOP radicalization â and the real dangers it poses.
Also, this:
I look forward to the GOP acknowledging that VP Dick Cheney helped put us into a ânever-ending Middle East Disaster.â

Most of the GOP absolutely are cowards.
Yeah, the psychology on display here is seen in history from the days of Caligula to the days of Stalin. I didnât think Iâd see it displayed so nakedly in my own country. And these people donât even have the excuse that the tyrant they pay obeisance to has the power to kill them and their families.
This is not to dispute Sargentâs point that many in the GOP also want this to happen. Thereâs a rich stew of awfulness going on in that caucus I daresay.

Itâs not an either or thing. They can be cowards and fascists.
Yes, some are doing it in the hopes they can claim the idiot crown. Like a bunch of little Beiras circling Stalinâs limp but still breathing body.
Apt analogy, and now I want to watch The Death of Stalin again.
How long before folks like Cheney and Kinzinger go from R to I? Sometimes you just canât put the fire out from inside the house, especially if just saying there is a fire gets you doused with gasoline.

Never. Theyâre convinced the Party can be saved, even as it repeatedly tells them it canât be.
Itâs possible Cheney goes (I) after she loses reelection, but that would decrease the chances of her preferred legislation passing, so I bet she doesnât. Because at the end of the day the only problem she has with the current GOP is the insurrection part. Everything else theyâre doing is stuff she fully supports. Going third-party decreases the chances of the GOP winning her seat and continuing those policies.
Cheney is the only House Rep for Wyoming, which went for DJT by 40+ points. The GOP will not lose that seat barring some quantum event. Sheâs clearly on track to get primaried and probably get nearly zero national GOP support. Sheâs in the minority in the current House and is currently branded a heretic by her party. Why stay R at that point?

LOL, this is like Dr. Frankenstein threatening Frankensteinâs Monster that heâs going to put him in time out. Itâs too late, Dr., and you donât get to pretend that you werenât responsible for the monsterâs creation.
So basically, another âstrongly worded letterâ to throw on the pile?

I saw this tweet, and by itself, it says nothing. 100 republicans, some of whom are former elected officials want the republican party to change? I assume that means none of them are current elected officials. So basically 100 people who vote republican want the party to change? Out of 65 million? Wow.
