Something, something, cancel culture, something, something.

That excerpt is very confusing and stupid. Maybe go with something more like “Arizona state GOP strips election oversight powers from Secretary of State, at least until next election.”

Shit isn’t hard, you festering choadwombles.

Oh yeah wow I completely misunderstood what was going on from that little blurb.

Took me three trips through the actual article to figure it out.

Hey, it’s not like being able to put words together in a clear and coherent manner is a core competency of that sort of job or anything!

Republicans are the WORST people on Earth.

Is the assumption that he’s a Republican due to him being a former police chief or the child porn? 🤔

and Montana

and the sexual assault sprinkles on top.

Don’t forget, being White and Males still correlates with Trump Voters.

All of the above. If dude doesn’t have at least 3 MAGA hats in his closet, I’d be shocked.

All of the above. They literally think they’re above the law and untouchable.

I think it’s a bit of a stretch to go from “Police Chief had kiddie porn” to “All Republicans are the worst” here. I’d have bought “cops are the worst” but just assuming the guys political identity when it wasn’t mentioned in the story and he isn’t an elected official looks a lot more like people looking for any flimsy excuse to bash Republicans as opposed to a reasoned critique supported by evidence.

The situation that we’re in, which I admit is dumb, is that you’ve got a bunch of folks who have identified as Republicans for a real long time, and so when the GOP is attacked for having such a huge number of pieces of shit, those people feel attacked as well.

The rational move is to just say, “Yeah, this means I don’t want to associate with those pieces of shit any more,” but lots of folks aren’t good at rational moves.

Kind of like the old 2016 deplorables comment. Folks were like, “OMG you’re calling all of us deplorables!” No man, I’m saying that if you continue to support trump, you’re a piece of shit. You can just decide to stop fucking doing that.

Many people are saying that Republicans are the worst though. Many people. Even in ananabtilps’s donut shops.

People come up to me on the street, with tears in their eyes, and they say, “Sir, the GOP are terrible people,” and they start crying. Big, strong men. They cry, possibly for the first time in their life.

Infuriating!

My understanding is this terrible Pennsylvania vote was just a committee vote so there’s no actual law that’s been passed. It’s in process and should be opposed but hasn’t actually been enacted yet, to my understanding.

And you can’t even submit the form if you are under 18?

I think this may be a case of some misrepresentation of the law, which may also itself be kind of dumb and vague, and ultimately be totally moot since there’s zero chance Wolf won’t veto it even if it hit his desk.

As Sharpe says, these bills haven’t even been voted on, and have only made it through committee, so they may be voted on at some point in the future (I suspect they won’t be). There was this bill, plus one that banned abortions after a downs syndrome diagnosis, and a fetal heartbeat bill.

This particular bill is kind of vague, in that there are some folks saying that application for a fetal death certificate is being required by the bill, but the bill’s sponsor says it merely gives you the ability to do so. In PA, if you wanted to have a burial for your unborn kid, you need a death certificate, but I guess you can’t currently get one, so this law makes it possible to get one. If that’s the case, and doesn’t mandate it, I don’t really see any problem with that… but I haven’t read the text of the bill, so who knows.

Either way, likely that this stuff won’t even pass the house in PA.
