True, there is a difference between the rubes and the grifters. Some believe. Some manipulate.
Well, some used the stimulus $$$ for their expensesâŚ

Republicans would gladly sacrifice everything they own to cause a liberal to shed a single tear.
I volunteer to shed a single tear in exchange for Republicans sacrificing everything they own.
We can do a little go fund me type thing. Liberals will line up to exchange a tear in exchange for fucking over a Republican. Hundreds of them crying all day. We can donate the money raised for actual causes and at the end of the day maybe those 'pubs will support universal healthcare.
What Iâm saying is I see absolutely no down sides here.
âŚwhether it was Gaetz himself or someone handling his Twitter account. In which case that person is probably going to get fired.
As Iâve said the voter ID/voter suppression are great tools for firing up the base. The same thing in general, was true the Georgia bill. Most of the truly awful things, never made it into the final bill. Some of the things (like passing out water) are true in most states. It is illegal to give anything of value near a polling place in most states and yes that includes water. In some cases, the Georgia bill actually made it easier to vote. Something which was eventually reported on by fact-checkers, at WaPo, etc. and by the PBS Newshour.
This presents an interesting moral dilemma. The intent of this legislation is clearly to make it harder for Democrats to âstealâ an election based on the Big Lie and also make it harder for POC to vote.
It is no exaggeration to say that Republicans are at the minimum attacking our voting system and possibly Democracy itself.
On the other, hand, twitter, CNN, MSNBC, are flat out lying about what these bills actually do The rest of the MSM isnât actively correcting them.
Part of me thinks we should be better than this, the truth matters, and Sharpe is 100% correct to insist on people actually provide references to their claims. On the other hand, perhaps we truly at war with the Republicans. The false reporting does energize the base and thatâs hard to do with Mr. boring and competent in White HOuse. MTG and Matt Gaetz are crazy, it is hard to think our Democracy is at serious risk with these two make fools of themself. If so does the Churchill quote apply to this situation?
In wartime , truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies ."

All it lacks is a backwards âBâ
As soon as I saw the breaking news about âAntifaâ leaving threatening graffiti on Nancy Maceâs home in her gated community my first thought was âshe did this herself for publicityâ. I hope to God one of her neighbors has a doorbell cam and hates her enough to release video proving this was an inside job.

Look, it was a simple mistake. We asked the guy to fix it but he said he would prefer not to.

This is how I feel. Personally, I say even more drastic steps are needed.
Just state that House elections in said states will be considered invalid under these rules, and the House and Senate will refuse to seat said representatives.
The House can invalidate elections they feel are fraudulent. They did this in NC-09, forcing a 2nd election there back in 2018, the new Texas reps wonât be able to vote on this, because they wouldnât be sworn it due to a disputed election.
Just throw the entire state of Texasâs house represenation out. If this is what it takes to get fair election , so be it. Itâs hardball, but itâs what Republicans would do.

The US House of Representatives should seat every duly elected member. You may not like the laws that Texas is passing, I sure donât, but the people of Texas elected their representatives and those representatives are doing their jobs.
Now if the Supreme Court declared them unconstitutional and they did it anyway, thatâd be different, but until then, states get to make the rules.

If the elections are rigged and illegitimate, then you have a right not to seat the members.
Not all the people could elect their representatives due to that law.
States get to make rules, the House can decide whether those rules are valid. If Republicans are going to nullify elections, we shouldnât give them any fruit from the poisoned tree.
Iâd even say excessive gerrymandering should trigger this. Itâs time to play dirty ourselves, itâs the only way we can force the constitutional crisis necessary to get a real fix to the problems.
I feel like our only options now are to fight fire with fire, or lose our rights. Seeing the example of Hong Kong, Iâd rather fight to the end then let that happen to us here.
Yup. Has there ever been a Voter ID bill which actually tried to make registering and voting easier for everyone?
No.
Wake me up when a Voter ID bill includes funding to ensure that every single citizen gets one, and makes it easy with no fine print about closing/limiting ANYTHING voting-related. Until then, itâs the typical Bad Faith argument.

Trying to stop people from voting? Being allowed to throw out legitimate votes if they are not what the reps want? The people voted for this?
Nice
Edit: whoops, Thrag anticipated this entire joke line. I hereby recant.
