Looks like the Republican plan to get folks out searching for jobs by hurting them failed.

Send more serfs…

I disagree, it succeeded completely. The politicians calling for this stuff, especially the elected officials like governors, had access to stats and data that showed very clearly unemployment wasn’t the problem. They knew that. These people are evil, not dumb.

It was never about fixing the lack of wage serfs willing to take crap jobs for minimum wage. It was about using it as a pretext to chop a social safety net that they had never approved of. To their mind the have-nots don’t need hand outs, they need a firm boot pressing down on the neck to keep them in their place.

Exactly. The last thing they want to do is show how government works in times of need. It’s contrary to their entire belief that government needs to be destroyed.

Well, except OF COURSE the parts that make it so they can get/stay wealthy in the first place. Police, courts, laws, that sort of thing. Oh, and infrastructure that isn’t falling down around their ears. But preferably only for their use, if that can be arranged (the poors should have to pay for their own roads, ideally).

My flash of happiness that Biden got elected is now back to low level depression that says: Enjoy what we have for now, because we are still fucked. I really wanted that happiness to last longer.

This is our future.

As a Canadian, I’d just like to say that Josh Hawley can go take a flying f*** at a rolling doughnut.

As an American I cordially invite Hawkeye to wipe his ass with a gympie gympie leaf.

Is this the ā€˜now look what you made us do’ domestic abuse defense? That would fit.

ā€œBiden shouldn’t have provoked us by getting himself elected over the greatest human that ever lived, save possibly Jesus!ā€ /s

Paul Gosar is one of those members of the GOP I periodically forget about because he’s not as often in the public eye as people like Jim Jordan, but then every single time I see absolutely anything about him, I’m always like, ā€œholy shit this guy.ā€

Money over health strikes again. In an anti-regulation state.

Among the wholesale lying, grifting and deception that is standard behavior by most elected Republicans, It is worth noting that not all are morally corrupt.

Case in point.

Thanks for sharing. The last few paragraphs in that article talking about how people who know him chose to believe random Facebook posts over his conclusions was really sad.
