Why is Fucker Carlson still allowed to be on any show at all? It seems to me that he is not just a scumbag but a traitor.
I know you’re just screaming into the void, but he’s allowed to be on TV because he makes a shit ton of money for Fox News, and also because any treason that may or may not have happened lately is being shoveled into the memory hole with all possible dispatch.

If they want to lead that party, they don’t have a choice. They are catering to what they created. It’s not about facts. It’s not about what’s good for their voters or anyone else. It’s all about feeding and channeling anger and resentment for largely imagined slights.

Let me rephrase myself: “The complete absence of cognitive dissonance, it is strong.”
Or perhaps, following Britannica, I may say, “The denial response triggered by cognitive dissonance, it is strong.”
Perhaps compression is an aspect of linguistic (d?)evolution. Terms, particularly those with the virtue of brevity, end up being slotted in where they are most useful, regardless of precise fidelity to original meaning and context.
