Be careful with that kind of statement. Shady state-level politicians who feel like they can get away with stuff because of the lack of national spotlight coverage are NOT a Republican-only thing. Two of the most prominent Democrat governors in the county (NY, CA) have faced recall or resignation for assorted naughtiness in the last year alone.

Cuomo deserved what he got but the Newsom recall was some bullshit. (But sure, creeps can come in all parties.)

Not quite what I meant but I’m honestly not trying to be offensive or anything, just something I’ve noticed.

Meant as a lighthearted comment. Similar-ish look, politics (duh), etc.

If you need an example of a corrupt Democratic governor, there’s always good ol Rod.

Ow, I had just taken a sip of diet Coke and now it’s up my nose.

Thread over. @strummer wins.

I’m still mad Trump pardoned that POS.

Everyone hated Blago for that. Everyone.

Illinois is pretty much a cesspool of corruption, and that definitely includes the Democratic party there.

At least corrupt Democrats aren’t fascists.

Definitely true, and the national party is not the Illinois party.

Roaches check in but they don’t check out.

Seems like the feds should refuse to send them any more money.

New prisons. That seems exactly like the kind of thing the US needs more of.

Problem: Prisons are full of Covid.
Solution: Build new prisons!

Genius.

Covid can’t fill up the prisons if we build the prisons fast enough.

I think it’s past time we removed the word “morally” from the thread title.

He was 74.

Akin had cancer for several years, his son, Perry, said in a statement. He died at his home in Wildwood, a St. Louis suburb.

“He was a devout Christian, a great father, and a friend to many. We cherish many fond memories from him driving the tractor at our annual hayride, to his riveting delivery of the freedom story at 4th of July parties dressed in the full uniform of a colonial minuteman. The family is thankful for his legacy: a man with a servant’s heart who stood for truth.”

A lifetime of faith and service and then you go and string two lousy words together…
