So, watching Fox News for the articles? :)

The speed at which conservative areas would “purge” liberals would shock you compared to the other way around. Like a matter of weeks. Maybe in the long run the liberal camp would win, but there are hundreds of thousands of GOP / Conservatives that would love nothing more than forming up posse’s and go door to door “citizen arresting” everyone with a Democrat political sign in their yard, and shooting those who fight back, and then “interning” them or expelling them in ad-hoc, “militia” run internment camps.

“Civil unrest” when the the GOP steals the 2024 election is just what they’ve been waiting for for decades. If that’s the way it’s going to go, 90s Balkans looks like a test run. That doesn’t mean it’s not the way things have to go in that situation, but eyes wide open, grasshopper.

The question I always have is, what is the world’s most powerful military doing in this scenario?

That is the right question to ask.

Most likely nothing.

Unless things break down even more and individual commanders start giving orders and people start following them.

Maybe, but I doubt we have this situation:

…while no federal authority does anything at all.

Nah, it’s not really a long term thing, it’s more like a reaction in the 1-4 weeks between a hypothetical overturning an election through GOP shenanigans, a “rebellion” by liberal groups in liberal states against it, and then the immediate counter-reaction to that. A big problem with what happens to the military in a crisis scenario comes down basically to a breakdown in the chain of command and nobody having clear authority to issue orders that are unambiguously accepted as having that authority. It’s likely in such a Waaaagh! scenario that the military is going to be paralyzed for some period of time as it waits for the politics to provide it a chain of command again. The military hierarchy would be absolutely mortified at having to ‘pick sides’ in such a political crisis, but nor does it have the obviously latitude to deploy itself spontaneously as a ‘counter-insurgency’ force internally in the US either. It’s in that gap that Bad Things can happen.

It’s also likely that the Republican governors aren’t, well, smart enough, brave enough, or clear sighted enough, to rein in their supporters if they’re running around rounding people up, at least not immediately. Eventually some Civilizing Inertia would kick in because the GOP doesn’t want to look unambiguously like the bad guys, but it’s also not clear at all that the GOP today is even able to tell itself that it has done something wrong. To be honest the GOP as it is right now probably has no capacity to deal with GOP adjacent supporters doing patently bad things, and that makes the Bad Things more likely.

To be clear, to get to this point C, I’m addressing John’s Point A (GOP overturns an election) and Point B (mob roots conservative pols and figures out of their burning mansions, 1789 style).

Kevin Sorbo: Wearing a mask is like being a Jew in the Holocaust.

The literal Auschwitz Memorial: Actually…

Bonus: Read the replies to see a bunch of idiots arguing with the Auschwitz memorial, about how they really ARE being persecuted like the Jews!

I don’t understand these actors who not only want to ride the crazy train, they want to shout out to the world that they are on the crazy train. I don’t think it helps them get work. In their case, it’s sort of anti-grifting because it has to result in fewer offers.

Anyway, Kevin Sorbo can go rot somewhere.

I don’t think Sorbo has had any work in a very long time other than being in Bible-thumper productions, so he has little to lose. Plus, he is insane, so he has that going for him.

In Sorbo’s case, you can’t get less than zero offers.

Hey, they could always start digitally erasing him from Hercules reruns!

This made me curious so I checked out his IMDB. In fact, he’s had steady work and a lot of it going back all the way from when Herc ended. He has thirteen projects right now in various stages of pre-production, though I don’t really know any of the stuff he’s been in so maybe it’s all on like the Hallmark channel or something. For sure, it’s all very religious themed, such as Faith Under Fire, One Nation Under God, Miracle in East Texas, and of course Bernie the Dolphin 2.

Hmm, I wonder if maybe Sorbo doesn’t even believe in any of this garbage, but is using it because it’s the primary source of his work.

That seems possible, but given how much Lucy Lawless detests him, I think it’s just him and he’s just getting work from places that agree with his views.

Then he’s one amazing method actor. Keeping up the character for years.

He’s locked into shitty Evangelical movies pretty solidly.

Also this. He’s a True Believer.

He thought Xena was the worst thing to ever happen because it promoted lesbianism and other immoral behavior.

Wasn’t he ON Xena?

Morality is flexible as long as there is a paycheck.

Especially when you know you’re riding a gravy train that has to last the duration.

The irony of him being opposed to the violence in Xena, but fine with beating cops with flagpoles and killing liberals in the streets should be funny, but it’s really run of the mill at this point.

And let’s be honest, Xena was a far better show for the most part.

This is truth.
