Yep, this is the current GOP talking point. They are trying to manufacture a narrative, in a complete rejection of all obvious facts and common sense, that the Dems are trying for a witch hunt for everyone involved in the rally. I believe the GOP preferred narrative is that the rally was super cool and totally normal and it was just a few bad apples that did the bad violent riot stuff. And that was all probably antifa false flag stuff anyway.

It’s all in total defiance of reality of course.

Sure, but it actually is a moral grey area.

Ohio fascist unfamiliar with what happens when a big snow storm rolls through in the Midwest.

Nothing says ā€œI’m one of you common folk,ā€ quite like not understanding how bad weather and grocery stores have worked since the beginning of time. This is a dude who has never bought his own food.

I like following American politics because it gets parodied before it happens.

I’ve seen this in the wild a couple of times here on the Austin internets. A Republican poster will freak out about Biden’s America, where at the height of a pandemic and right before the worst winter storm of the year, half of a shelf is empty at one grocery store.

One could only imagine how these cosseted people would freak out if they had a real, honest to god problem they had to face.

I mean… We saw that.

Trump pretended that covid wasn’t real and then hundreds of thousands of people died.

The ā€œcossetedā€ people got vaccinated and then lied about it. The ones dying are the marks and rubes. Though ironically Marco Rubio is still alive.

I’d be certain to end up on the bonfire myself if I tried this, but this fellow looks, sounds, and dresses just like the superstitious fascist rubes he’s mocking, so all they do is try to exorcise him. (It doesn’t work.)

Just do it while streaking and they’ll be too distracted by, um, you know.

Do kids get to request the kind of lunch they want at school now?

Yeah was wondering that myself, I had exactly zero input on the swill they served in my HS.

I will give’em this though, the bread rolls they made with a bit of butter on them were simply amazing.

I’d probably just have requested all tater tots, all the time.

We had a potato bar thing. Mostly people ate the chili they offered with that if they didn’t like the food of the day. I think there was a salad bar option, but no one ever really took that unless they were in wrestling trying to make weight or something.

I don’t even have a joke. This is just too much.

Since the vaccine was universally available, you were 3x as likely to die of Covid in a county that went 60% for Trump than one that went 60% for Biden. And some people want Republican governance?

I think the view from the vax-hater, and I stress this is not a view I endorse, is that everyone dies sometime and there’s no point in getting worked up about it and these were all sickly and old and weak people who were going to die soonish anyway.

And I’d respond with an uneasy chuckle: ā€œSo were the people on Medicare.ā€
