Ding ding effin’ DING!
(Thank our shitty corporate-kowtowing ag/food policy since the mid-70s for the fact that a waaay higher percentage of Americans are obese these days vs 50 years ago. It wasn’t inevitable.)

It’s OK to die when you have God on your side.

One thing that is nuts, is that idiots keep saying, “The CDC admitted, all the people who died had a bunch of comorbidities!”
What they don’t understand, is that when you die from something, they list all the things that you had when you died, generally with the intention of providing a trace of your demise.
This means that if you get covid, and then it causes you to contract pnemonia, and then it gives you acute respiratory distress, and then you die from a heart attack… you get all those other things listed as comorbidities. But the reason you had them, was because you had fucking COVID. It wasn’t like “Oh, well this dude had pnemonia, and he just happened to have covid… as long as you don’t have pnemonia, covid’s no big deal!” Covid will freaking give you pnemonia.
Also, all that aside, the fact is the American population is generally pretty unhealthy, and a huge percentage of them already have pre-existing conditions which will cause them to handle diseases like covid poorly. But jesus christ I’m sick of hearing idiots talk about comorbidities without understanding what it means when they show up on a death certificate.
I completely agree, but the “everyone dies sometime” crowd won’t find that argument persuasive at all. At the end of the day they just aren’t that upset over loss of human life, and view COVID as an unavoidable thing. From that (deeply flawed) perspective, all the COVID health restrictions and vaccines and masking just look like tyranny.
From my experience, you can’t reason around their fundamental assumption that COVID deaths aren’t a big deal

Ya, it’s nuts…
Imagine if we had terrorists killing over 3000 people every day. I’m pretty sure no one would be like, “Eh, whatevs! Everyone’s gotta die someday!”

Timex, you’re old enough to remember September 12, 2001, when we all just said “eh, whatever, let’s just get back to the usual.”
