Is anyone saying they don’t have the right to say what they’re saying? I’m not.

Upthread someone said “Ukrainians have enough to worry about without more foreign saboteurs.”. The typical penalty for foreign saboteurs in wartime is getting shot. That’s what I was reacting to, but perhaps was reading more into the argument than was actually there.

I’m perfectly happy for the MAGA idiots to keep spewing out their nonsense. They are in a deep hole, and the more stupid shit they say praising Putin and criticizing Biden, the deeper in the hole they get. Anyone over 60 has at some memories of the cold war, and perhaps for a few folks, the cognitive dissonance of being on the side a KGB agent, will be enough to start creating some doubts about Trump’s vision. Plenty of folks eventually leave cults, before they drink the kool-aid.

Freedom of speech for Russian twitter and Facebook trolls is another story.

Totally agree. Freedom of speech for Americans is part of a healthy civil society. I don’t think we need to protect the speech of foreign entities seeking to influence our society for their own ends.

Regarding the Russian trolls - some of European Twitter personalities I follow have noticed a large drop in all the troll posts since Russia blocked Twitter access… Less climate denial, NFT BS, etc…
