I just assume her office is staffed with QAnon people.
Exactly. This isnât just another âoh man, look how stupid MTG/Bobert/Gaetz/Cauthorn/etc.isâ moment, itâs a moment that illustrates just how dangerous this is becoming. MTG didnât just blurt this out on the steps of the Capitol or at some convention or rally. This was a planned, written, rehearsed and produced piece of content for social media distribution to the masses.
It is Pro-Russian propaganda. Just like Fox News has become Conservative State Media that supports Authoritarianism and pushes Pro-Russian propaganda as well. This is even more insidious than January 6th, because a bunch of these people are already in Congressional seats, already have prime time shows on major cable news networks, already have massive social media followings, etc⌠These people donât see Putin and the oligarchs as a situation to be avoided, they see them as something to be emulated.
Yep, weâre in a struggle for the soul of democracy. The planet is still choking on carbon, too.
The government, not the country. Which is somewhat true, but still false, just as the rest of the well done propaganda.
People like this have always existed in the US, but as rule they hit a political ceiling of city council, state legislature in southern state, or small town mayor. Having 1/2 dozen in the US congress and couple in Senate is a new and dangerous development.

Honestly, the struggle against fascism is the more existential struggle for me.
Fascism is more likely to kill me than climate change.
Climate change could kill millions, or much worse. But they are the two issues that to me dwarf the rest. Although Putin is reawakening my latent concerns about nuclear war, so yay.
Bonus - climate change is likely to lead to more fascism!
And fascism will produce more climate change!

And more fascism could lead to a major nuclear war. But a major nuclear war would introduce huge amounts of dust into the atmosphere, and destroy most carbon-producing industry, which would reverse global warming. Win

Climate change is definitely #2 long-term, and I fully support action on it. The difference is Iâll likely be dead by the time Climate Change becomes an existential threat to me instead of an inconvenience. Fascism could kill me within 5 years.
I have a daughter, so perhaps there is the difference. Also, tyranny comes and goes but climate change may be irreversible except on a scale of millennia.
Wasnât quite sure where to share this, but I found it to be a nice rejoinder to transphobic jerks and the most outspoken are typically found among the morally corrupt members of the GOP;

There are precisely zero Republicans who will understand that.
They will agree and say we can safely disregard / do away with those other elements.
Perhaps there are a handful of exceptions ;)
Not for multicellular organisms, but sometimes I think some Republicans only have one functional brain cell so they may come out ahead.
âWhy are there still apesâ
There are not enough facepalms. These people clearly do not understand how evolution works.
She really does look like old busted Mickey Rourke, doesnât she?
(apart from being a troglodyte in her views on things, of course)
