I read about this weeks ago. It’s not a bug, the law’s author acknowledges it removes the age limit. If the limit gets added back in it’ll only be because of the bad publicity.
Missing from the bill are age requirements, opening the door for possible child marriages. Something the bill sponsor acknowledged during a Children and Family Affairs subcommittee.

It just means that the Democrats could float a resolution saying the sun rises in the East, and 60 GOP congresspeople would vote against it.
The resolution was clearly partisan and badly written, since it has the word DEMOCRATic in it so much.
