It is interesting timing, given that there is a primary election coming up in about 3 weeks.

Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos.

I doubt more is possible as he admitted smuggling weapons into congress in his wheelchair on 1/6…

He pretty much always has a weapon, either a pistol or fighting knife, hidden in his chair. He has been “caught” several times on federal property or school grounds etc. where weapons are not allowed. His wrist is permanently red from all the slapping.

I feel like it would be so easy to become a darling of the MAGA base. All you have to start with is a complete lack of scruples.

Isn’t Rand the son and Ron the father?

Ya I sort of got them mixed up, didn’t I.

The party of “we just want to leave you alone”, everyone.

Yup, much staying out of your business.

The GOP is going to make anti-trans one of their mainstay planks. They see it as a winning position.

Stoking bigotry is one of the “Greatest Hits” in politics, after all.

I remember a GF I had about 30-plus years back (I was around 28, she around 20) being very upset about my not being in a moral panic about gay teachers in the public schools!1!! She was clearly buying the right wing propaganda about gay people being pedophiles/“groomers.”

I don’t think it will be a winning position for them, but it will be popular with their base, which might be enough.

We’re likely going to see a repeat of the gay panic of the 80s and 90s, with some changes.

I’m still very, very scared, living in a red state, and probably going to have to make the choice between hiding in plain sight, or being an obvious target, and being unable to leave easily.

I have a non-zero worry of being a target of genocide. If I hadn’t found love strong enough to keep me here , I was seriously considering leaving.

Or you glommed on to the Oedipus family secret here!

From “Roswell That Ends Well,” one of the best episodes of the series’ original run.

Suburban/exurban GOP voters seems to have a fondness for the Boebert / MTG rantin’ n raving’ lunatics. One place they got elected in droves recently is school boards.

So I was out today and noticed campaign signs for Kevin McCarthy. I forgot he was now my congressman since redistricting. He replaced Nunes. I can’t win.

Good Ole boys in Tennessee want to have a legal bonfire…

A new bill proposed by House Republicans would require boards of health to “promote and increase distribution” of drugs, such as ivermectin, to combat COVID-19. Health professionals who don’t do this would be penalized.

The four main drugs that the bill includes are ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and budesonide. Each is an unapproved-by-the-FDA method to combat COVID-19. The bill’s language also requires doctors to promote and increase distribution of any other drug or therapy that “may be proven effective or deemed beneficial” by the patient’s “treating health care professional in consultation with the patient or patient’s legally authorized representative.”

Edit:
Here’s the bill. It’s not quite as bad as this news blurb makes it sound, it’s more a license for quacks to do their thing without repercussions.
