Hmmm…so cutting 41% of the University of Alaska’s state funding (among all the other really shitty things the Governor’s veto would mean for Alaskans in general) pretty much means climate change research takes a huge kick in the crotch. I had heard about the massive cuts to the University on NPR, and had no idea why the Governor would be trying to do that.

This excerpt from the article provides one possible motivation. Apparently the University is one of the top contributors in the world on climate change research.
