Texas legislature finally getting around to impeaching Ken Paxton for all the crimes he still, somehow, hasnât been arrested for.

Under state law, Paxton is now temporarily suspended from his duties as attorney general and will await a Senate trial.

Basically Paxton declared the GOP House leader a drunk and demanded his removal from office a week ago. The House GOP leadership basically said âoh really?â and impeached him .
This feels like him getting his comeuppance but itâs really a lone shark getting set on by a pack of sharks. Paxtonâs been a POS for years but they only care when heâs directly attacking his own party leadership. Heâs not running for office and they saw him as an existential threat.
âAfter much consideration, it is with profound disappointment that I call on Speaker Dade Phelan to resign at the end of this legislative session,â Paxton said in a statement Tuesday. âTexans were dismayed to witness his performance presiding over the Texas House in a state of apparent debilitating intoxication. His conduct has negatively impacted the legislative process and constitutes a failure to live up to his duty to the public.â
Later Tuesday, Paxton posted an image of a letter asking the House General Investigating Committee to look into Phelanâs âconduct unbecoming his position.â
I thought Paxton didnât call the speaker a drunk until after the impeachment was being discussed.
