Insomnia and another drink says: I love both the heat and the humidity. It reminds me of my youth. Hanging out in Washington Square park. Stoned out of my mind. Me and my lady buying egyptian musk oil from the Rasta dude. The scent of burning incense. And later, happy times in a room with no AC. ::sigh::
I spent the first thirty years of my life in the south, and I am done with it, all of it. That climate is not for me. Oh, and I uh, had a couple of beers with dinner but I guess I couldn’t really call myself drunk. Oh well.

If we only post here when fully drunk, the posts are gonna get ugly!! Hah!
I’m from the NC mountains which are milder, less humid, and overall cooler than say, Charlotte where I’m at now. I’ve been to and done plenty of Florida trips, also coastal NC/SC/GA, etc. I get through it, but the humidity saps my strength in a big way. Go out, sweat, get in car, chill, go back out, sweat, get humid rain on you, come back inside, freeze but loving it, repeat. There is NOTHING worse than sleeping in a humid and warm room.
On the flip side of this, 50 degrees to me is like tshirt weather, maybe Jean’s, enjoy the day outside if there isnt heavy wind or rain. To my GF having liked in Key West for a long period of her life, 50 degrees is 3 layers, including a vest and coat.
We all acclimate to something.
While still a fan of beer, I am no longer a fan of hot weather. It’s probably a product of aging. I used to thrive in it. I loved to go out and play tennis until the sweat dripped off me. I remember being 22 and playing for two hours in 100 degree weather and then going to McDonald’s and getting fries and dousing them with extra salt. Those were good fries, still cooked in animal fat.
Now, though, the heat is stifling. Makes me want to sit inside in the AC and read a good book. I want to be a snowbird and follow the moderate weather. It’s what appeals. Still gotta work, though, so that has to wait.
One of the reasons I call Seattle home: I don’t have to chase the moderate weather.

It’s always a pleasant surprise when I go to boot up a game, and I’m thinking, “I have to beat this annoying mission already.” And drunk me already did it.
Wow, Drunk You is pretty cool. Drunk Me usually leaves Sober Me in the middle of a firefight with 10% health and no ammo.

This happens as well. Maybe 50% of the time.

I too, am a party animal. Best part about being over 50: the naps.

Had some drinks after work with some old co-workers from my current job which was a lot of fun but also maybe I need to move on too.

Anyone in tonight?
I’m having some Four Roses Small Batch.
A few years back we visited the distillery and I came home with a bottle of this. Very good stuff.
I was enjoying Dragon Prince season three so much I kinda forgot to make myself more drinks.

I’m sad to not know where it’s Distilled. Louisville?
I was introduced to it by a friend of a friend while on a ski trip in Colorado a few years ago. Needless to say it kept our guts warm for the day and on into the evening. Great taste and quite smooth. I may repeat on it again over my Turkcation since I have the week off next week. My bourbon stock is low though.
Yes, very close to there. We went and did a tasting.
Or the start of a hopeful shopping trip. Around thanksgiving we engage in “the great replenishment” trip, where my wife and I drive across state borders (from MA->NH) to access the cheaper booze, and buy it in great quantities. We’ve been known to buy upwards of $1K of booze at a shot in a shopping cart to take care of gifts for relatives, booze for the holidays (to help with political discussions), etc. Like a grocery trip to whole foods, some of the bottles get a little more expensive, so you might walk out with 2-3 cardboard boxes full, instead of 100 liters of crap.
So, maybe there’s hope - maybe you run across a bottle you always wanted, and it’s on sale!
