That’s one of the great things about margarita is that it’s a solid baseline that is easy to adjust to your own taste.
Absolutely this.
I tend to go classic. 4:2:1 tequila (reposado for me) to lime juice to sweetener (agave syrup or cointreau or honey or simple syrup). Often I’ll skip the sweetener entirely, especially if the tequila I’m using is a bit on the sweeter side.
Oh, also: Yay whiskey! Started with a Whistle Pig Old World Rye this evening. Debating on the next stop. Probably either a Russell’s or an H.L. Weller.
@Houngan I really need to stock up on the Weller next time I’m out KY way. It’s crazy expensive out here if you can get it at all.
So I went to a bar with a friend for a “couple of drinks” and after 3 extremely strong cocktails (this bar seems to consider a double as their baseline), I wisely had a beer to sober up. Now I’m looking at my first work engagement in eight hours and starting to question my life choices. But fuck tomorrow, that’s future Tortillas problem and what has that guy ever done for me?

I just logged in to work to find that one of the two meetings I have today is cancelled. And it’s the early one too. I’m with you in spirit, @Tortilla .

Let me know well ahead of time and I’ll see if Owen can lay in a supply. Stuff gets snapped up here as well, he usually knows when/where the drops are happening.
Now that’s just mean, because I’m about to join mine (which is not cancelled). Also it turns out that future Tortilla is a fine upstanding guy and it was drunk Tortilla that’s the problem. Who could have seen that coming?

It’s a shame that it’s basically impossible to find here because I managed to pick up a bottle of the normal green Weller for MSRP due to luck and it’s great. Would be a regular if I could get it.
That sounds like something present Tortilla would say. Always trying to make peace between those two jokers.

Some of that went into some au gratin we had last night. Today we’re being lazy and just having some wonderful smoked turkey melt sandwiches. Sorry to make you hungry again, Rich.
I know right? Except now he’s past Tortilla, so he doesn’t need to worry about mending fences anymore. Right now it’s just me and . . . shit . . . I’m stuck in a loop here aren’t I?

I in the same loop. Speaking of, it’s 4:45PM.

The wife is bartending tonight. Mango Cayenne Margarita. Sorry for the crap cell phone pic.
Ok you talked me into it.
They’re delicious, though I’m sure yours is better. 😉
Gentle reminder that it is Cinco De Mayo.
In my symbolic resistance against Imperialism at the battle of Puebla, I plan to partake of tequila drinks, because nothing says, “I support the Mexican culture,” like apparently getting knackered on margaritas.
My sincere apologies to anyone here of Mexican heritage that America has turned this into a drinking holiday, but hey, it’s what we do, just ask St. Patrick.
I would but I think a snake ate him.
As someone who lives in copperhead territory, I wish St. Patrick had come here to chase them off as well.
