Enjoy the bar hop! I’d join if I was out there. I plan to hit where my wife works a bit later this evening as results come in for the east coast. No way am I staying up to hear everything though.

I have drinking planned. But not watching. I do not want to be a sad drunk tonight.
OK. Mostly drunk.Sorta drunk. Like, glad I was sensible and took a Lyft drunk (standing rule for us. going to the bar. take a car. no exceptions). Whoof. That is/was a great party. I love my town
Do we have a “I’m hung over” thread? We should have one of those.

That’s every thread other than this one.
I had to go thru an assessment this week, extremely stressful. Stress was compounded by mid-terms as well. So…
I’ve had 4 Voodoo Rangers tonight
1st is for Fetterman (I’m living in Pennsyltucky PA, hope my home isn’t vandalized before I get home)
2nd is for Shapiro, for helping to drag John over
3rd is for Wes in MD, seems like the right man at the right time
4th is for me, cause I needed it
Keeping eyes on NV and AZ now, money is going to GA runoff
I realize I’m two months late reading this post but I hope like hell he’s a bass player doing “Roundabout”. Because I’d pay at least 20 bucks for that.
“Roundabout” is too straightforward. “Gates of Delirium” or “Awaken”.
Or “Sound Chaser” since it’s got an alcohol related word in the title.

I did this the other night with Wicked Weed’s Freak DIPA. Only it was 5 and all I can say is ouchies. Tonight we’re going out with two coworkers of mine and I expect it may go poorly. Post-COVID gettogethers seem to be wide open and I really need to dial them back a bit.

Five DIPA’s?
Damn, that would kill me. :)

Tolerance and weight. Neither are good for me and drinking, bit it is what it is.
Tonight we are ubering over to a massive birthday party for an 80-year-old guy we have been friends with for years. Here’s hoping for no regrets tomorrow.

As I have aged the tolerance has dropped, so as tasty as most DIPAs are I limit myself to one an evening.

Not horribly bad. We -had- to limit ourselves since the party moved to three separate bars during the evening. I’m glad we ubered, though, traffic was horrible and hot having to drive in that was a benefit.
I have a day of home chores prior to travel tomorrow so not being plastered is really helping today.
Scuzz, for sure I -need- to have this rule when drinking DIPAs. Saying is one thing, doing though … is hard. Freak is something of a west coast style DIPA with a bit of late and dry hopping to keep any lingering malt sweetness in check. Some might call that a bitter DIPA, but it makes it taste more like a normal IPA, thus masking the 8.5%.
And man does it sneak up on you.
Jaegermeister and apple cider today alongside warm coffee and whole milk. Pretty chill.
Happy Saturnalia!
Jeesh, half a bottle of rum and a couple of cans of stout and I’m ready for 14 hours of sleep.
Getting old blows.
I hear ya. I went to a bar to meet a group of friends for the annual “we are all familied out” traditional Dec 25th drinking binge this evening. Just due to vagaries in which friends showed up, I was the oldest person at the table by a solid decade. I was proud of myself to make it to midnight and not be the first person to tap out.
This is the bacchanalaia thread dear sir!!!
Good job. Hope the coffee was tasty!
I will stay up past midnight once in awhile but quarter to three is now a mythical time. Might as well be when Santa arrives or the elves come in to cobble some shoes.
It doesn’t bother me, though. Waking up at 6:30 or 7:00 am is nice in its own way. I don’t need more sleep, just that my time to sleep has shifted. Life is preparing me for daily meetings of the old codgers at McDonalds so that the world’s problems can be solved!
Happened to me as well, although playing hockey brought it on. With games sometimes not starting until 10:30 (ugh), going for 80-90 minutes, then getting undressed and showered before driving home - plus the adrenaline still hitting when I got there, nights after games gave me very little sleep, so I started going to bed the next night anywhere b/t 7:30 and 8:30. At some point, that just took over, and now I wake up anywhere between 4 and 6 AM. I actually kind of like it more than staying up late like I used to (and still do for hockey games).
