Man, this Cobra stuff is awful. I can handle the watered down lager thing, but this stuff has an aftertaste that can only be described as stanky. I’m only drinking it because it’s one of the beers my sister brought home from Estonia for me. She doesn’t know beers, but I really appreciate the thought.
Okay, so I am not wasted or anything, but this thread seemed cooler to post in than the beer thread.
So how are you guys holding up Speak With Bread and lesslucid?
I actually quite enjoy Cobra, but perhaps that’s because the only time I ever have it is in curry houses in the UK. I’m not even sure it can be had in the US.
Also, all you people drunk this early on a Friday are making me jealous. I need a good night of drinking but it’s hard at my age to line up all the friends for a night out now that everyone is married, has kids, or both.
Hmm. Maybe the beer was skunked or something. The other one was some Russian beer with a Windmill on the bottle. That one was actually a decent lager. Can’t even Google it or Beeradvocate it, though. Damn you, Cyrillic characters!
Oh I’m not trying to defend Cobra, for all I know it’s a shitty beer. I only drink it with spicy curries and usually in quantities that will definitely interfere with my ability to give an accurate report on its quality on the subsequent day. It’s a tradition at this point, sort of how I hate Cherry Coke except in movie theaters where I absolutely must have it to make the movie watching experience correct and complete.
And you wonder why you get piled upon.

Partially moved into new loft today. Happy hour from 5-7 with coworkers. Another happy hour from 7-10 with kickball friends. Then going to see another friend’s band play until who knows when.
And the. I wake up early tomorrow to cook breakfast for everyone helping me finish the move, and THEN the big housewarming party tomorrow night.

I can’t speak for speaks with bread, but I spent most of yesterday wallowing in hungovered self-pity. The hangover’s now gone and the self-pity’s just about within spec. Not repeating that experiment in a hurry.
