Yeah, the Eternals are really not a well-known comic. I read through the original Kirby series and did not like them at all, and that’s coming from someone who is reading through selected Marvel comics, in order, starting with the original Marvel Comics #1 from 1939. (I’ve just reached 1985.)
So on the one hand, I have no idea how Marvel (or Chloe Zhao) could make a good Eternals movie, since the characters are not well known and really not very appealing. On the other hand, I can ask a random person on the street who Thanos is and they would probably say, “He’s that big purple guy who wants the Infinity Stones”, so maybe I shouldn’t underestimate Marvel’s ability to make obscure characters mainstream.
