I was trying thinking of something funny but that was better. Post that on twitter and gather your 100,000 likes.

Alas I have no Twitter. Feel free to steal it and gather likes in my stead.

Well mates if I do not come back then you know Irma got me. I am only partially kidding. I am directly in the path of the eye and it should still be a Category 4 when it hits me head-on. We are sheltering in place. It is far too late to try to evacuate.

SO STOLE

So it’s gonna be a Cat4 for sure, possibly a Cat5 when it hits the keys.

Jesus … prayers for those folks in the keys. The size of this storm is large enough to block access from the area there or cut them off for a good amount of time.

Never thought I’d see EPAWA on Qt3.

Anybody still in the keys is a damned fool.

There is a Naval Air Base, a Coast Guard station and an Air Force station there. As crazy as it sounds, I guarantee you some poor soul is on duty and will be there for the big event. That would be terrifying.

That poor sod is probably contemplating the places he could shoot himself to be removed from duty. Would a foot do, or would a thigh be better…

OMG man, good luck.

Going to work on doing this in a couple days

Wish me luck.

Edit: gif is better

There are currently 3 active hurricanes in the Atlantic at the same time.

Also, Irma is immense.

I wonder if the Keys have had a storm like this recently. They might get wiped out too.

Words cannot describe…

Reading stories on Reddit of friends/family refusing to leave the Keys. It will be underwater. Even the military have evaced.

While Orlando isn’t going to get the worst of the storm, we have only been in this house 2 months and I’m not 100% sure of its storm readiness. I’m guessing we will head to a shelter tomorrow morning to ride it out. The last thing I want is for one of my palm trees to fall and compromise the house at the start of the winds.

I’ve got family and friends in Ft. Myers, Tampa and Miami and it is like roulette with who is going to get clobbered. Looks like the Ft Myers folks may “win” this lottery. Yikes.

I have a brother-in-law in Fort Myers, he didn’t evacuate because it was looking like it would pass them by until nearly the last minute. Hoping he comes out of all this ok.

I have family near Clearwater refusing to evac even though they’re in the evacuation zone.

Up to 12 feet of storm surge in areas!

12 feet of water would cover most if not all the Florida Keys for sure.
