Well, at least the Mexicans aren’t going to enter the country through the state of Nebraska now…

A question to those more knowledgeable than I. Are big storms moving faster lately? I mean in the last five years to now. These days it seems that they come cross country in three or so days instead of five or more.

I may just be completely wrong, I accept that. Hivemind, please correlate. :)

The weather channel recently mentioned that storms are moving slower actually, hence the crazy rain and snowfall totals in the middle of the country.

In Chicago it’s time to make the traditional Easter snowman.

My son is gearing up to do that right now.

Must be easy to hide eggs, just don’t color them.

This is fine, cool cool

Why go through all the back-breaking labor of draining the swamp when you can just evaporate it?

They want to drain the swamp to build Trump buildings. Swamps are actually valuable ecological resources.

Your comment still applies, it’s easier to put concrete over everything if it’s already a wasteland.

And despite beinga pinko commie liberal, I’d kinda be happier to see everything paved. Easier to drive on, ya know?

First we have to work out the A/C dome, but otherwise I’d be on board.

In Chicago it’s time to make the traditional Orthodox Easter snowman.

It’ll be a few hours, only really just getting started here in the last 30 minutes.

If you’ve seen the other thread about the tornadoes in Missouri, know that we’re kind of in a week of severe storm outbreaks as strong moisture moves in off of the west (winter storms in California dumping snow in the Sierras and Rockies, then slamming into warm weather in the plains) and really touched off a few days ago. More tornadoes expected in the Texas panhandle and Oklahoma today. We didn’t really see much in the way of particularly dangerous outbreaks last year, but this May has been a bit different.

Meanwhile, on Everest:

This image is simply nuts.

Is that real? It looks like a line for a ride at an amusement park.

It’s real, and it seems as if a couple of folks died due to the delay that line caused. Not that there was ever any chance of this, but Everest is something I would never ever ever want to do.

You and me both. I’ll tell you, after my SO had a stroke earlier this year, I don’t need to skydive or climb mountains or do anything else for that risk-fueled adrenaline. I’ll already be spending my remaining days in mortal terror of a blood clot wiping me out at any moment, I don’t even need to leave the house! :)

It rained buckets earlier today. There was a four car accident next to my work during all this.

The Reading Museum area got inundated last night. During the Pokémon Go craze, this was one of the most beautiful and fun places to play in our area. Five inches of rain is what they’re saying. More tonight too.
