It hit a high of 82 at work today in El Segundo and I swear it felt 100! For some reason we’re leaving this weather to go to Palm Springs this weekend, where it’s somewhere in the 110 degree realm.
OTOH, a lot of FL is FL without the good beaches too.
True but with the exception of Orlando no one lives there. The center of the state is no-man’s land between the warring coasts of Long Island (East Coast) and the Midwesterners (West Coast).

That must be from that milepost 97 fire. I just drove through there last week on my way to the Redwoods. I recall seeing all the fire danger as moderate. I guess not.

Yeah it’s Canyonville or as everyone calls it around here, Seven Feathers. I think it is still moderate though, in terms of fire season. This is supposedly due to an illegal campfire which… even during a wetter season can be a problem.
So if enough grasshoppers swarm an area that they show up on radar like a storm, does that count as weather? They have descended on Las Vegas as if it’s a new biblical end times. I’m going there Wednesday. I may have to spend the whole time in my hotel complex.
The funny thing is this plague of insects may have been attracted to Vegas in part by this light at the Luxor. You can see it from the LA airport:

It’s that time again
That red dot is approximately where my house is. My wife and I are going up to VA beach for a half marathon she is running and we have flights back on Monday. Something tells me I might be stuck in VA.
